Went for a walk recently here and the forest walk is shaded by trees but there are ups and downs that might prove troublesome for those with stamina issues. There is plenty of parking area and am looking forward to the Farmers Market held every Wednesday, from 7am till 1pm. The Farmers market has everything from fish to vegetables, baked goods, a pasta stall, and a stall or two for vegans and gluten free, and a gourmet coffee stall manned by Java Josh 1( coconut, almond milks to add to your Java!). On your way to work Wednesdays, driving up Searingrown Rd, stop off and have a hot or cold gourmet coffee to go, or a selection of many exotic teas. The market runs from June through November. Bring cash not credit cards. There's also an ice cream and soda/water vending truck to keep the kids happy. Have not used the outdoor pool, with separate kiddie pool. Outdoor full court basketball courts, outdoor and indoor tennis, small miniature golf installation for young kids, outdoor children's playground area, and a well shaded picnic area with grills for charcoal cooking, and an adult nine hole golf course next door. A bit of something for everyone including your pooch at the dog park/walk. Soft drinks can be had at several vending machines. Also, an outdoor ice skating rink is available during the winter months. Having just visited the Farmers Market for first time in 2019, I am including some new...
Read moreI’m not a Nassau resident, but would still prefer to go to this park and pay the fee. Unless of course you have the leisure pass, reduced prices. So for 6 adults and 3 kids, it totaled to $129. Be warned, there are a lot of regulations at this park - no coolers, no food, no cameras for picture taking or recording so leave that GoPro Hero 7 at home if you’re thinking of testing its water capabilities. The lifeguards WILL ask you to come out of the water if the men are not wearing mesh swimming trunks as I witnessed quite a few times today. On to the good stuff now. The park is quite big. There is a kiddie pool with depths of 6” to 2 feet. There’s also a playground for children, a dog park, and a walking trail. I went to use the pool. I stayed in the 4 feet deep side of the pool, but they do go deeper. There’s a separate pool for diving. Life guards look out for everything. They have them sitting up on the life guard chairs (sorry, no clue what they’re called), and they also have life guards circulating the pool. There are lounge chairs all around the pool. Lockers are available but no locks. Not compatible with your own either. The women’s bathroom has showers and changing room. Highly recommend the pool area for people looking to cool off,...
Read more🌳 Christopher Morley Park – Roslyn, NY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Right off the LIE on Searingtown Road, Christopher Morley Park is a charming, low-key gem that packs a punch. The huge parking lot makes arrival stress-free, and while the pool is under construction, there’s still plenty to enjoy. Let’s talk dog policy—yes, they allow dogs, but only if your furbaby is running. So if you’ve got a chill pup who prefers a stroll, maybe toss on a wig and blend in with the sprinters 🐶💨 This park is clean, upgraded, and full of surprises. The trail area is perfect for a peaceful walk or jog, and the amenities? Stacked: 🏐 Volleyball court 🧤 Handball court 🏀 Basketball court 🥒 Pickleball court ⚾ Baseball field (not court—gotcha!) ⛸️ Skating rink for winter vibes 🎡 Seasonal carnival festivities Whether you’re here for a workout, a walk, or just to vibe with nature, this park delivers.
