$700+ paid for a repair on Oct 25th to be done by Halloween. Not finished in Nov and then they blamed me for their rushed work. When I asked for her to fix an imperfection she said, "it's a 2 minute buff out, but we don't do free work". I left in tears. A month later, the diamond fell out again. Cannot recommend this business.
** Shopkeeper's response is incredibly inaccurate and untrue. She has made up facts to embarrass us into deleting... I was wearing this ring months ago. I didn't want a new ring, I wanted my ring fixed the way it was (which is why I paid the bill in advance with MY cc). We discussed it & I simply wish they work was higher quality & they hadn't done it and changed it... it came back different and not finished because of the rush job. The nice gentleman who took the ring in knew the deadline and confirmed it with my husband, whom I stand by, as he returned every call. The shop forgot the project when he was picking up and did the work in a rush. The woman who wrote this response also all but screamed at me for the fact that my husband was 1 minute late picking it up. She told me she doesn't like doing jobs for "young people" and made me feel like I had done something wrong or that my husband had wronged her somehow or robbed her. I certainly do not want her to resize my ring, and I have since taken it to a respectable jeweler who sized me and said that it does not need to be resized. I just wanted them to finish their work, but the encounter I had with this woman when I went into the shop was horrible. I'm sure her husband is very nice and does great work when he has the time and the project isn't rushed. Attempting to upsell already overpriced quality, making a customer cry, and threatening & making up lies about customers to avoid any responsibility for your mistakes is a very bad business practice. All I really wanted 1st was an apology. When the diamond fell out again 1 months later I gave them another chance & asked for a partial refund. Instead they threatened to SUE ME for posting honest reviews about my experience and then they lied publically about us to try to silence the truth. We are happily married and just adopted a foster child. We think Lake Country deserves better than this, and we have a right to tell you the truth. I would appreciate if these business owners would understand that they came up short with us, please quit threatening and harassing us, & simply accept some accountability....
Read moreWOW, just stopped in to see if they could put a clasp on my brother (who just died) necklace. ( I called first and a man told me to stop in as he would need to look at it) a woman barely greeted us and made what I thought was a joke about charging us $100 extra to move us to the front of the line. It turned out she wasn't joking. Then she looked at it and said this is steel and handed it back. I asked if she could fix it and she snottily said we only work on fine jewelry here. Then she mentioned she could put a silver clasp on it but it would cost us $35. The way she said it was like she was expecting us to say no. When I found out how long it would take I said I didn't want to leave the necklace there. ( It's all I have of my brother). She said ok then and smirked and as we turned to walk out she chuckled in this horrible snide way. My husband just turned and said glad we could amuse you. She said something else under her breath but I couldn't hear her. I am new to the area and she ruined what could have been a long term customer. But from the way she treated us it seems they do not need anymore customers! I will NEVER go back there. Seems I not the first customer to be treated like this by the "Female Employee". Read the reviews! I'm anticipating one of your typical responses "Karen".
Edit: We were nothing but kind until that last laugh at the end. We walked out of there in shock at our treatment. Your response is worthless. You are just repeating everything I already said. It wasn't what you said it was HOW you said it. I only wanted it right away because I wasn't comfortable leaving it for that long. I was not upset about your charge or the fact that you couldn't do it right away. You need to work on your customer service skills or just being a decent less hateful human being or do you you only treat people that need small jobs done that way? PS: We did not slam your door. I don't know how you are...
Read moreIf I could rate 100 stars I would! I had a really bad experience at Kay jewelers after my husband bought a new diamond for my wedding ring this Christmas, we were very upset and my best friends who got their wedding rings custom designed through here; which they did the most amazing job, suggested we go to see Jo and Mike at The Jewelry Mechanic, after our Kay experience. They took care of me right away and were so professional and personable. I got my ring soldered within 5 minutes of walking through the door! Will be definitely becoming back for any future needs or wants! This experience exceeded my expectations and much more! Thank you to Mike and Jo for...
