I came in looking for a fun, affordable outfit for “Granny Bingo” and spotted a necklace labeled as “pearl” for $7 — blue tag, so 50% off. When I picked it up, it was literally plastic Mardi Gras beads. Dollar store quality at best. I pointed it out to the staff at checkout, and even the guy ringing me up agreed it was ridiculous and said they were definitely plastic Mardi Gras beads LOL.
But when the manager came over, she was smug, dismissive, and flat-out rude. No apology, no adjustment, just a snarky, “They’re 50% off.”
Ma’am. It’s not about the sale, it’s about calling PLASTIC BEADS I can squish with my finger “pearl” and pretending that’s a fair price at a thrift store.
These places don’t pay for donations. Every item is pure profit. So why are you charging boutique prices for junk? What happened to making secondhand accessible? Shame on y’all. Do better.
And honestly, this feels like you’re trying to take advantage of people — especially elderly shoppers who might not realize something like this is fake. That’s not just shady, it’s unethical. For a Christian organization that claims to serve the community, this kind of greed and deception is incredibly disappointing.
Picture of the literal...
Read moreI have been a long time customer and have donated a lot of stuff over the years. Over the weekend my daughter purchased some pens while she was there with a friend. When she got home she tried the pens and not one of them worked. This was a pack of 11 pens still in the original box for $11. I figured if they were charging $11 for a box of pens they would of checked at least one of them before putting them on the shelf for sale. I tried to return them the next day and was told by the store manager "no". She said my daughter should have tried them before buying them. I guess my daughter was supposed to start scribbling on random stuff in the isle. Didn't even offer to give me a store credit, which I would have gladly accepted. I know they won't miss me but I will never shop or donate here again. I will also never refer someone here which I have done a lot over the years. Thanks for showing me how you truly take...
Read moreI had a unpleasant experience today at your store and just wanted to share with the managers of this store. I wanted to purchase a item that did not have a price on it and stopped an employee to ask her. First I asked if she worked at the store and she snapped " yes". Like I was bothering her . I showed her the item and while asking her about it she grapped it out of my hand and said " no price no sale !" She could have been having a bad day BUT I only asked a question ! There were others some what like the one I had but we didn't even go and look ! Because of her additude and your policy, (mostly her additude) I put all of the items I was going to buy back on your shelfs . She made me feel like I took off the sticker and I pointed out to the front desk person there other items that were missing tags also ! So glad our store treats people...
