Good basketball court...but TERRIBLE staff, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THEIR OWN SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES AT ALL. One of the staff members let several teenagers over the age of 14 come onto the court and even joined them himself in an actual basketball game during the 14 and under “shoot around” session while I was practicing with my 8 year old son on the adjacent hoop. THE RULES OF PLAY CLEARLY STATE THAT “NO COMPETITIVE PRACTICES OR GAMES” ARE ALLOWED PER CDC GUIDELINES ISSUED BY THE RECREATION CENTER ON THEIR WEBSITE. During their game they were bumping into my son and I while they played as if we weren’t even there practicing. They were belligerent, cursing loudly, some were not even wearing masks including the staff member himself at times. It got so bad that I decided to cut our time short because my son clearly showing signs of being intimidated by this group while they played right next to us. I went upstairs to the front desk to speak to someone about the issue and the person I spoke to showed no interest in addressing the matter, so I asked for a refund and they actually chose to refund me instead of trying to address the issue. I recently moved to the area and thought I found a place I could bring my family to enjoy some time and be comfortable, but I was completely WRONG!!!!! The Acquatic Center offers swimming classes, acquatic exercises, and more for minimal fees to Ossining Residents.
The Ossining Recreation & Parks Department Offices are also housed here.
The Srs. Program runs daily from 8:00 hr. to 15:00 hr. except on holidays. The program serves hot & cold meals. Takes them food shopping on Thursdays after lunch and the Srs. can play Bingo.
The Sr. Program also offers free Chair Yoga sponsored by Westchester County Sr. Program.
