Large community park with a dog park, playground, and tons of green space. The highlight is the campground. Nice open sites with water sewer and electric for $25 a night. They dont take reservations. So 1st come 1st served. This is only an issue on holiday weekends. If staying over a holiday, just come on Wednesday or Early Thursday and you'll find a site. The staff is nice, and the place is well kept. The sites aren't very private, but I dont mind at all. The more campgrounds I stay at, the more I appreciate the Hickories. EDIT, 2021 Update: The hickories park is just as good as ever, still one of my favorite campgrounds. The issue is availability now. There are often few sites left if arriving later in the week. I would suggest calling ahead to confirm what sites are open. They still do not have reservations, however Scott (Park mamager) is usually able to answer any questions and let you know what sites are open. Speaking of Scott, he has always been extremely helpful, and is always working hard to keep the park in great shape.

We've been coming here after Labor Day for a few weeks every year for many years. It's a great park, & it used to be easy to find a spot then but now it's almost impossible, even on a weekday! The park doesn't have a reservation system, it's owned by the Town of Owego. Spots are available on a 'first come' basis. However, now RVers from the south & locals are coming in the spring and staying all summer, even into the fall, as the park allows 'seasonal' camping. We were able to get one of two spots left! I walked around the camping area very early this morn (5 AM, Tuesday 9/14/21) and a third of the RVs were unoccupied. I suppose at $25 a nite it's a cheap way to store your RV for the summer. The town would do other campers a favor by limiting half the sites to a max of 2 weeks.

Hickories Park is a year-round leave no trace park in the heart of Tioga County. I car camped in the tent area which was inexpensive and has a lovely view of the Susquehanna river. The bathrooms and showers were spotless, the staff were friendly and grounds are very well kept. The park is next to many local attractions, Evergreen Cemetery, Hiawatha Island, and Waterman Conservation center, to name a few. Owego has a variety of interesting places to eat and many unique shops. The local government is friendly and accessible and there’s plenty of well attended seasonal events.

We love bringing our RV here during the offseasons and on weekdays. There's a crowd of regulars who congregate for the summer and make outsiders feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Otherwise it's both beautiful and serene with clean facilities, friendly staff, and fairly reasonable rates. Another reviewer mentioned the social climate at the Hickories as well. When we came midsummer, we were made to feel like we had crashed a private party. We were surrounded by people who had spent the entire summer together at this campground and we were definitely not welcomed. Apparently a bunch of coworkers from some nearby company come and really settle in. They surround their RVs (way beyond the bounds of their campsites) with dog enclosures, tents, attachments (some even grow gardens!). There was even one family flying a political flag and others who set up things like birdfeeders, lampposts and windchimes. Charming and homey for a summer cabin, but this is supposed to be camping. I could've stayed home for this atmosphere! I camp to be in nature and get away from suburbia - not to have it be recreated around me. They all gather for a community campfire every night (to which we were not invited). None of this would actually bother me but for the fact that these are unfriendly and entitled people who treat this like it is their private property and others are intruders. I prefer to go off season when the summer crowd breaks camp and goes back home. (I actually believe there are one or two who live there year round, because they have decks built around their RV.) It's a shame that something that's meant for everyone to enjoy has been co-opted by a large group who treat it like it's their...

Hickories Park is a wonderful attraction just outside the Historic Village of Owego, enjoyed by both local residents and visitors. The park offers a wide range of amenities that make it welcoming for day trips, events, or extended stays.

Visitors can choose from more than 60 RV sites with hookups, tent sites with water, restrooms and showers, and a convenient dump station. The park also features multiple playgrounds, paved walking and biking paths, basketball and volleyball courts, and plenty of picnic tables and grilling areas. Several large pavilions — including one that can accommodate up to 200 people — make it an excellent venue for family reunions, community gatherings, or special events.

Hickories Park sits along the Susquehanna River, offering a boat launch, creek access, fishing, and beautiful views. It also hosts seasonal events such as summer concerts in the park. For pet lovers, the on-site Rebecca Weitsman Memorial Dog Park provides a safe off-leash space for dogs to enjoy.

The atmosphere is peaceful, spacious, and family-friendly. While it’s a large park with extensive amenities, every corner feels approachable and community-oriented — more like a local town park than a big facility. Whether you come for a picnic, a concert, or an RV stay, Hickories Park is a true gem of...

I usually dont have issues here, its a beautiful park. But I actually had to deal with a rude volunteer today. Granted, my dog is hyper which can be nerve racking to other dogs. First meeting with a dog he did what males do, we got that sorted just fine, no issues no anger from the dogs. Everything was fine. But I get warned if he does it again he needs to be leashed. Fair enough. So my dog walks away to go check out the other dogs, he didnt try to mount them, but apparently he tried to sniff the wrong dog. This new dog started snarling and tried going after him! We got them seperated, no harm done but it was clear that dog didnt like mine. So his owner took him to the other area. The volunteer said "your dog needs training" I couldnt believe something was being said to me like we did something wrong. So I tried to just remain calm said, "he's a rescue and were still working on some things" The volunteer responds, "so are most of the dogs here..." So past that I just wanted to leave. But I haven't been able to get him to the dog park... But leaving no one else had any issues with him or any other dogs... So I feel, we got some rudeness...
