Book Culture Pittsford — Attraction in Town of Pittsford

Not a very customer friendly business attitude. We tried to return an item that we bought for a Christmas present. Evidently when you plunk down your money it is gone for good as the only recourse is a store return for credit. This would be fine if the intended end recipient of the gift was interested in anything in the store, which she was not. We were told by the owner that if we had not put our credit card down and insisted on a refund she probably would have given us a refund. Certainly a strange approch for someone that wants to build a business. It spits in the face of " the customer is always right"!!! Amazing book store with a well-curated selection of books and pretty awesome gifts, not to mention a whole hidden toy shop out back full of excellent kid books and whimsical toys. This place is packed with treasures, but it's not cluttered. Nevertheless, you might need to ask their helpful staff to locate some things for you. And if they don't have a book, they can get it quickly. The book prices are reasonable, but it's also worth paying to be a member to get the discount--it pays for itself really quickly.
