Very cool fall, doesn't have alot of water though. The trail from the parking lot is short about 5-7 minute walk. Once you arrive the train leaves on the top of the falls where you see the water stream that feeds the fall. Takes some nice pics just be careful walking to the edge. The walk to the bottom of the falls it's a short walk. The view is very nice at the base where you can take very nice photos. You can walk into the water which is very shallow so no swimming. Definitely find a spot to sit and relax and be at one with nature. I recommend leaving the fall for the end of your day since it's closer to the exit. Just remember there's Two parking areas, one for the lake and one for the waterfall so no need to take that one from one area to the other.

Just a beautiful spot. Takes about 10 minutes to hike to it from the parking lot. There are flat rocks at the top to stand and carefully peek over the edge. Then it's about a 5 minute walk to the bottom along a windy gravel road. Just gorgeous from the bottom. After taking in the view you can continue along the trail which meanders with the stream deeper into the woods to some other small falls. Perfect for a short hike with family. I'm sure it gets busy on weekends. We were there during the week and there were only a handful of people. Also, we went after days of rain, so there was a lot of water packing a lot of power. Highly recommend.

Just one part of the beautiful beautiful Minnewaska state park... One of those places you can visit any season of the year.. maybe not when it rains...the rocks and paths can become bit slippery after or during rain( obviously)..One interesting thing about the Awosting falls is that it's beautiful from the top as well... maybe too beautiful during the fall...the fall colors beautifully compliment the waterfall and almost every time you can see a rainbow (something I love about any waterfall... thanks to reflection, refraction and dispersion of sunlight 😁).. visit during the fall ...The combination of fall colors, waterfalls and the complimentary rainbow would be treat...
