Visiting the Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center is always the highlight of my summer, and of course other season. The center is staffed and provides maps for the surrounding trails, as well as a lovely exhibit on the areas plants and wildlife. It has interactive displays which the kids really enjoyed. There are restrooms and a water drinking fountain. The trails around Lake Minnewaska are beautifully maintained and clearly marked.

This new visitor center is beautiful! Built on the heart of Lake Minnewaska with thought and grace of the natural landscape around it, it is a central hub for a plethora of magical trails! Such beUty here. If you havent been...find the time. Hikes of all levels and abilities are available. Even just seeing the stone walls around the lake can lift the spirit.

August 2025 Review: The park is amazing - stunning views! And again, as last year, the support I got from the visitor center was amazing - George took a lot of time to help me choose the right hikes for me and I ended up coming 3 days in a row - and sorry I did not have the 4th :)

August 2024 Review: This visitor center is great - it is just beautiful (amazing views) and has a lot of information, including a 3D map. Billy and Gabe were wonderful - they took time to help me choose trails and gave me a lot of information.

The nature around and the hikes (many start near the center) are amazing. Many carriage roads and also paths (though path seemed to be very narrow...
