This is the main entrance for people visiting Lake Minnewaska and many of the other popular destinations in Minnewaska State Park Preserve.
Sometimes the road may become very busy. When you enter you may encounter a Park Ranger directing traffic to either side of the gate house.
Typically the left lane is for guests who do not need information, who are paying by credit card or already have a state issued card for admission like an Empire Pass. These guests can take advantage of the kiosk which most likely has maps printed and available as well.
