In the past my rating was higher. This is a great small theater with super friendly staff and volunteers. The price is great and they have a good selection of snacks for sale. At least half of the movies I’ve seen here have not started on time and sometimes the temperature varies greatly throughout a show. My biggest annoyance with this fun and amazing place is that they’ve decided to eliminate single use plastics, so now they are charging for a small paper cup of water (no lid or straw) that they are filling from a water cooler. What are you supposed to do with an open cup once you’re in the seat? If you even get that far without spilling it. I understand trying to eliminate things that either don’t or are slow to decompose, but businesses, especially those in the service industries need to remember there my are there to serve and ensure the customer has a great time, sometimes that means offering water in a bottle until a better option...
Read moreGot to see the 1964 Japanese Toho Classic Mothra vs. Godzilla! What made it even better was seeing it with my son Jake, who grew up watching the Japanese versions of Godzilla and Gamera before he could walk and talk! Lol And this theatre had beer, and not just any beer, but Local Hudson Valley beer from Chatham, NY. We had the Pilsner. There is nothing like seeing a classic film like this with people who are into it as much as you. There was a pre-movie warm-up with audience participation of the Blue Öyster Cult song Godzilla, that really set the tone for me as I'm a huge fan of the band, and then there was an interesting trivia about the US version of the film release as it was it call Godzilla vs The Thing here! All in All I had a terrific time and will definitely check out the...
Read moreThis is a great little theater with an amazing story behind it of a community coming together to save this historical landmark! Walking in the door, I was immediately greeted by a friendly face and the movie ticket prices are very reasonable. The popcorn is freshly popped and very low priced! How excited I was to learn that this community nonprofit is almost completely operated and maintained by the generous efforts of its volunteers!
The theater recently updated its projector and sound system and the film that I saw was wonderful. I also visited this theater for a live performance. I would recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing a movie in a quaint and charming...
