Tremper Mountain Trail — Attraction in Town of Shandaken

Great hike! Parking lot is plowed very well and pretty early in the day. The shallow streams remain unfrozen a long time into winter despite low temperatures. View from the tower is great! There is a lean-to near the top and a spring on the way up. Round trip this trail was a little over 6 miles. It's a climb, but the switchbacks make it feel like a gentle incline. Not a lot of views...

Beautiful hike. We hiked in early December, so it was slightly chilly at the top, but it was worth it. We hiked through mud, rocks, a few icy spots and finally to the top. The hike is on the strenuous side with scrambling and 6mile loop, but it’s worth it. The view from the watchtower was great, would come back...

Moderate-hard trail that is all uphill. Rocky trail so have pretty good shoes . The scenery is nice but not that varied. Worth it once you get to the top and climb up...
