This is a tough hike for anyone who isn't a regular hiker. Its pretty steep most of the way and never seems to end, but it IS worth it. Closer to the firetower there is a spring to refill water, and a lean-to to rest in if needed.
There is another trail on the other side of the mountain that is less strenuous I have heard. Firetower at the top is WORTH IT. Little to no cell service in this area, so bring a buddy or tell someone if you plan to hike. I wouldn't recommend this trail...

However, the trail is pretty well maintained, easy to follow and not technical. The tower had bees mosquitoes and flies all around. The view was okay really saw the top of the trees. A little rickety going up the tower.
