Somewhere Adam Smith is crying. I say this to help, not to be a jerk. TLDR: Nice trees, nice amenities, nice people/workers but completely disorganized and painfully inefficient. It took one hour to get the tree baled with multiple peoples trees being lost.
As a thought experiment and because im a loser who finds economics interesting below are suggestions to owner.
The current system: Customer picks a tree gets a 6 digit ticket. Worker cuts down tree drags to path for pickup (seems reasonable but see later point) A tree is dropped off in a line with dozens of others. There is no ordering convention for the trees. Customer comes up to checkout to get the tree. Heres where things get ugly. Customer gets down into insane line and hands their six digit ticket. Owner personally runs up and down the line checking the number of each tree to see if it matches. Tree is brought to the front where it sits in a line with one baler out of three operating. It appeared each worker would bale, fresh cut, carry the tree to the car rather than having a dedicated person doing each. Multiple people standing around the baler with little to no direction on what they should be doing.
Suggested: The numbering system clearly breaks down at a certain capacity. One option is Have people carry their own and wait on line to bale it all in one shot. I understand that is a long carry for some people. Perhaps another baling station closer to the trees so the numbering system is eliminated. The other idea is simply to use tags that are much more legibile, perhaps color codes and to organize the numbers into different areas of the storage area. The numbers should also be much more legible from a distance so someone doesn't need to go to each tag and squint.
In regards to the actual baling, the final completion of the process could be much better. One worker should not do all: Baling, cutting the net, cutting the fresh cut, vibrating the tree and carrying the tree. Completely inefficient. Two people on baling, balers toss tree to side where it goes to two people (maybe one) to fresh cut and vibrate. Final stage is for parking staff/tiers to bring to car. Quantities of workers as required, and if that slows up at the very least people can always go and tie their own. Leave a bunch of rope there for people to cut.
I said something to this effect to a worker very amiably saying customers would walk and they replied "I mean if they leave they leave" which should get that person fired on the spot. Horrible attitude. And if the excuse is "it works fine we were just crowded" please get out of here. If that was an efficient operation I am Ryan Gosling. Merry...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWouldnāt recommend for a few reasons. I see how it would be fun for families and might be worth it but the staff was really rude. We showed up at 12:20 and they didnāt let us in because they had a few field trips at the time and to come back at 12:45. We waited and came back, and walked up a few minutes early at 12:42 to give us time to pay and also to just make sure we got in, but the lady refused to let us pay and made us step aside and wait the two minutes. She was really rude about it. We completed the maze, which on the sign said if you check off all the things in the scavenger hunt you get a treat. We mentioned it to the same woman and she was super rude acting like we didnāt really complete it and didnāt even give us the prize. Maybe itās more meant for children? Not sure but if so she could just say that. Super cold and unwelcoming plus food stands were empty there was only one open and to get a bottle of soda is 5 bucks. I get if itās a busy day for them but getting met with attitude like we were supposed to know all of this when its was our first time and its not listed on their website or google. Not all staff was bad but that one lady ruined it. Bad...
