I paid for 1 cheese pie, one container of wings and a half dozen of garlic knots. This cost me about $31 and some change. What I got wasn't food, it was disappointment.
First, the pizza. It wasn't fresh. On the phone, I was told it would be around 20 mins for it to be ready. Fine. I got the pie less that 30 mins later when I went to pick it up. The pizza was NOT fresh. No, they just took a pizza they have made either earlier that day or the day previously, and re-heated it for my family to eat. The crust was HARD, and the pizza itself was lukewarm at best. One bite, and I immediately noticed how rubbery the damn slice was. Absolutely disappointing.
Second, the knots. Again, they were not fresh. If they were, they would have been lightly crisp on the outside while buttery and soft on the inside. It tasted DAYS old. And what's worse was the marinara sauce I asked for (by the way, you WONT get the sauce UNLESS you actually ask for it, plus it cost extra for it). The little cup given to me was so small, that after eating two of those rock hard knots that were sold to me, I was already out of sauce. I threw out the rest.
And finally, the wings. I dont know how you can mess up wings, but the ones i were given were so hard and crunchy that they tasted dry DESPITE the fact I completely covered them in blue cheese before eating them. Needless to say, I did not finish any of the food sold to me.
When I order food for takeout, ESPECIALLY pizza, I expect the pie to be fresh. The garlic knots, lack of marinara sauce, exceedingly crunchy wings, I would've ignored it all if the pizza was fresh. Why tell me to wait for pizza that's not fresh? Why give me an old pizza from earlier that day instead of just making a fresh one? Is it time? I dont mind waiting, especially for pizza. Why does this place always sell old food?
Clearly the workers do not care enough to just make fresh food. I hate being lied to, I hate wasting money on old food and I ESPECIALLY despise old pizza. Never ordering from this place again. Waste of...
Read moreThis place used to be named Michaelangelo's. It recently changed hands and at sometime was renamed Roma. It used to be a decent pizza place; not the best, not the worst but good and consistent.
Since it has changed hands it's terrible. They have this system where you have to order when u first walk in the door from a cashier. It's strange because one, it right by the front door and two, you can't walk in and check out the pizza on the counter. What NY pizza place does this?
The place is now staffed by a strange group of people .The guy working the cashier station seemed to be under the influence of some substance. He also kept walking past one of the females behind the counter and smacking her butt, like to the point it was loud and by her reaction it hurt. There was other staff in the eating area folding pizza boxes together. They were having a strange conversation that was better suited for a back room, not a customer facing area.
Pizza was terrible. It tasted like it had been reheated several times and cracked when I folded it. Not like that nice crunch that most NY pizza has. This was like a piece of wood was cracked in half . Chicken roll was also very light on sauce and the dough was gooey. They gave me sauce on the side and it tasted and looked...
Read moreWe’ve been coming here for years and our pizzas last week were horrible and incorrect. They gave us the wrong pizza so we had to go back and it still was mediocre and not worthy of New York.
We let that go and came to dine in this evening. We usually love dining in, as the food is great and the ambiance was nice with white table clothes and candles. We knew they didn’t have an abc license, so we were told we could bring our own wine in from next door or anywhere else with no corkage fee.
We came in tonight to a dirty table, with pizza boxes stacked on other booths, and no table cloths. We had to ask to have our table cleaned, and the girl wiped it off with a dry paper napkin into her hand with grease smeared. Thankfully she let us know that there would be a $30 corkage fee for wine, when they don’t even sell it.
This was all unacceptable so we unfortunately walked out. There must be a new owner and not for the best. We were upset by the two situations with pizza last week, and now we have a third. Sadly we...
