Since this store opened, my son (now 9) has spent hundreds of dollars here. The other day he decided he has out-grown his Pokémon stage and wanted to sell the better part of his collection, including a few select pieces bought right from the store. 2 of the cards were even rated and in a case. When they made him the offer they explained that it was their store policy to only offer 60% of what the retail value would be in store credit, and they offered 55% of the retail value in cash. If it was me I would have told them no, but my son already had plans for the money, so despite my attempt to reason with them they knew they could take advantage of an excited 9 year old. A gentleman who I suspect was the owner interjected into our conversation and rudely shouted across the store “you don’t have to take our offer.” He then proceeded to tell me they weren’t a card store and then ignorantly compared buying Pokémon cards to buying a car. I chose not to debate him as I didn’t want to embarrass my son, but it’s really disgusting to me that they will sell a 9 year old a card for $50 then tell him they’ll only give him $25 for it a couple months later. Bad business guys. I will never go back to this place and I would recommend no one else does either. Their greed and ruthlessness belong on Wallstreet, not Main st. Owner - you ought to be ashamed at the way you...
Read moreOne of the best local game stores—hands down.
I’ve been coming to Game Players since they first opened, and I’ve followed them through the years, including the transition in ownership. And let me just say—the new owner and his team have absolutely crushed it.
They’ve taken everything that was great about Game Players and made it even better. The store feels more organized, more welcoming, and more exciting every time I visit. You can tell the team genuinely cares—not just about selling games and collectibles, but about building a real community for gamers, collectors, and anyone who loves nerd culture.
Game Players has always been that cool, laid-back spot where you can hang out, talk shop, and discover something new. Now under new leadership, it’s gone from a great local game store to a must-visit destination.
Massive respect to the original owner for laying the foundation—but huge credit to the new team for taking the reins and pushing the store to new heights. They’ve made Game Players feel fresh, energized, and more connected to the community than ever.
If you haven’t been lately, do yourself a favor and stop in. And if you’ve been before, go again—you’ll see exactly what I mean. You’ll walk out with something awesome and a big...
Read moreI always use the Batavia store (never been to the Brockport one)
I have bought and sold many games here, every single time I buy or sell I look at Game Stop down the road. Game Players Unlimited is always cheaper for purchasing and offering more for my used games. Anywhere from 10% and more in your favor wether you are selling or buying. You can get cash or store credit, obviously you get more store credit than you do get cash, same goes for all the places I've been.
They are always knowledgeable and most times I buy a game the salesperson will ask if I've played it and if not explain what to expect. For example, Metal Gear Solid has a movie at the end that is quite long and you can't pause it so he made sure I knew, right before I beat the last guy (you'll know when) get up, get some popcorn, go to the bathroom etc. then come back and finish killing him.
So, basically the only three reviews NOT five stars are from the same person who revisits occasionally under different names (Awful S., Kevin Smith) Same story three times worded slightly different but no enough to make the suggestion it's from...
