This is a completely new and different review from my original TakeOut review of 3 stars 🌟. My mother recently passed away, and we needed a place to eat after the memorial at the funeral home. I chose Ho Ho because the family wanted to honor mom. She loved Chinese food and mostly ordered from Ho Ho. I called them about a week in advance to see if they could take a reservation. They don't. However, the wonderful, kind gentleman who answered the phone allowed me to elaborate. He was patient as I explained that we weren't sure of the exact count of people but could be between 20 to 30. He listened to the reason why we chose Ho Ho. He didn't know our mom, and his response was very surprising. He verified the date and time frame with me and then stated that he'd accommodate us AND make sure that there was seating set aside for up to 30 people!!! Wow! Thank you! 👍. During a time such as this, regardless of how much preparation you think you may have accomplished, it truly truly helps to have seamless assistance! When we showed up, I was blown away that they had a room in the back that was perfect 🥰 💞. It was set for 25, and that's exactly what we needed! There was a waitress for us and a second when needed. It was flawless! It's a buffet, and the food was fantastic!! Seriously, no complaint! There was something for everyone, and we even had children there!!! Thank you, Ho Ho and staff!! So beautiful that you contributed so well to bring honor to our mother's memory. ❤️ First Class, First Rate, 10 stars 🌟...
Read moreHEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO SEE I've been to this location a handful of times and its mediocre to say the least. The past two times I've gone the chicken I got was completely raw, pink and slimy. I didn't say anything the first time thinking that these things sometimes happen. Tonight I went giving it another chance and the same thing happened. Raw, gamey, uncooked chicken once again. I brought this to my waitresses attention and she shook her head and took my plateaway, and brought our bill to the table. I sat there for another 20 minutes or so waiting to see if anyone took care of the rest of the uncooked chicken at the buffet, no surprise they didnt. I saw a family walk right up to the buffet and at least 3 people put the same chicken I had gotten on their plates. I brought my bill up to the counter and told her everything. She immediately got defensive and said we cook chicken outside its not raw and grabbed my card out of my had. I told her everything else was fine but I was looking out for their business because this will make some one VERY sick. I paid the full amount and wasnt going to be the type of person looking for a discount, however they lost my business and I want to make aware of the health hazards that come from...
Read moreI've really only been to three buffets stemming from Brockport to the Rochester areas. Of the three restaurants I've eaten at, this one is the worst. The reason for saying this is that the trays of food often look like they've been out in the open for hours, and the truth is most of them have been out in the open for a long time. When the workers bring in a new tray of food, they take the leftovers from the previous tray and mix it into the new tray; the other restaurants are guilty of this as well. The Lo mein, the various chickens, and especially the stuffed clams are all examples of this, and you notice it because of the staleness. The selection of foods also don't do well compared to other buffet restaurants which provide a larger array of food choices.
I really have no problems with the service; the service was good. The place looks decent in regards to its looks, but it really doesn't seem appealing when compared to other places. The restaurant definitely needs to be worked on more in regards to food safety though. I really wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here even though it's...
