We went to this place on a whim. We wanted to get out of the city (buffalo) and go to some natural water hole that would be fun and safe for young and big kids alike. I just randomly found the George Bridge online and decided it looked good in pictures with a shallow end and a deeper part with some bridge jumping and a rope swing. (The rope swing is no longer there. We were told by a local that it accidentally came down with his brother last summer. 😂) We went on a Sunday and there were quite a few young adults hanging out on the bridge and jumping in. They seemed friendly enough but there was definitely some drinking going on. The river was right next to a water sanitation building. There was a little steep incline to a tiny rocky beach area where we set up our blankets and the kids went in. We brought some vests for the 3 and 5 year old and a floating chair for the kids to use. We spent a good couple hours there. Past the "George Bridge" on the other side there was a wooden walkway through the woods and into town along with some smaller trails in the woods and a larger/wider trail that went straight back. We were told by one of the locals that it's a 6 mile trail back there. We just explored the wooden walkway and woods a bit before heading home. It was a nice enjoyable day but nothing super special about it. I'd probably give it more like 3.5 stars but it's a whole star grading system. We did see a few people fishing who said they hadn't caught anything all day and at one point there were quite a few younger kids for our little kids to play with. I don't think I'd make the 2+ hour round trip drive to do it again but it was fun. We like getting out and exploring new places.

Great little park that packs a punch. The creek is beautiful and many people swim in it (please be careful of the undertow - it's faster than expected). The trails are connected to the Genesee Valley Greenway and go on for what seems like forever. There's tons of black raspberries and even a black cherry tree down the trail. We pick this park to help clean trash from every I Love My Parks Day and the community that comes out is great.

This great little park in Scottsville, NY has benches that overlook the Oatka Creek. It is also part of the Genesee Valley Greenway, a 90 mile former railway bed in Monroe, Livingston, and Allegany counties that has been a State Parks multi-use trail since 2011

Seemed like a nice place and was looking forward to the reported swimming hole, but it was very crowded, no one was practicing safe social distancing, and not one other person I could see from the car had on a mask!

My boyfriend went to see if there was any place around less crowded, and as people passed our car and saw me in a face mask, a couple seemed to get quite upset and called out to their children to pull them away from our car and walk several feet out of their way to keep from coming near me. They have me sidelong glances and then whispered angrily behind our car, as I sat there. I felt very unwelcomed, and felt treated like I was the problem wearing a mask in their park, instead of the fact th as t they were all breaking NY state law by not wearing them in public during Covid-19 Govenor's order

I never saw the swi.ming hole so I cant review it. We left as soon as my...
