This is one place to check out! The Skene Manor is a home to historical birthplaces and amazing architectural designs! I posted minimal pictures as you should experience it personally. Nested in a quaint town that is so rich in history. The mansion is a view away from the NYS Canal and other tourist spots!

Aside from the free tour of the mansion and checking out the giftshop, they also offer dining services! I love love the experience I had in the dining area! From getting an amazing service given by the ladies who volunteers in this amazing place, to the savory soup, delectable sandwiches, and delicious desserts! All made from the mansion's kitchen!

Put this on your bucket list! A few minutes away from Lake...

What a great spot to have a casual lunch ! The menu included great homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. After a hearty bowl of split pea and ham soup and a great BLT on what was not just any white toast, I couldn't fit in any of the homemade desserts, which all sounded and looked wonderful ! After lunch I took a tour of the manor given by a very knowledgeable and humorous volunteer docent who led us through each room and ultimately to the top of the mansion. All in all it was a great way to spend a beautiful Spring afternoon. I might add that everyone working there is a volunteer cooking, serving, and giving tours to help raise funds to preserve this local architectural treasure. Go check it out and have lunch while you're at it. The menu prices were very moderate and the food was great ! ...

The hours of operation are very limited, but was able to get a tour. The people there are volunteers and they do their best to deliver a great experience. They have added a restaurant on the main floor to gain extra revenue. We visited many years ago and it seems like they changed the story of what happened, but I can not confirm if they did. It is a great piece of history to check out and it didn’t cost anything other than time. We made a purchase in the gift shop to at least help with their time and...

What an excellent place to visit! My wife, kids and father visited August 2022. The building is in the process of being restored, but all areas were open for viewing except the basement and restaurant kitchen. You can eat at the cafe inside but we opted to take the FREE (donations accepted, and you should) hourly tour. Our docent was pleasant and knowledgeable about the history and restoration. This place is totally unique and worth the visit if you are near Whitehall! Just call ahead to confirm hours.
