Skenesborough Museum — Attraction in Town of Whitehall

Wow this museum was a nice little place. It had some very interesting things inside of it. I was not familiar with how much went on in Whitehall NY before I went into this museum. The person who greated you at the door when you came in was a very polite gentleman. He gave my girlfriend and I some very good information. The display show telling about the area on the right when you walk in is very well done. The fee to enter the museum is very fair. I liked the information about the fishing gear I did not realize that it was made near by. This place would be very nice to take a small group of children that are interested in learning about Whitehall NY the birth place of the US Navy. Been wanting to stop here for a couple of years. Very friendly folks, a lot of really interesting historical stuff with local history and that of Champlain and the surrounding area.

They have no AC, so go during spring or fall or a cool day. We had to leave because the heat inside was nauseating. Hats off to the volunteers for working in a place with no AC. At the very least install some...

Great experience, everything you want to know about the lock and canal that once made Whitehall a place of great importance in wars. And you get a chance to learn why it's the birth place of the U.S Navy. Also it offers much more history and items from another time period. Really made my trip to Whitehall worth it.
