Great hike. Moderately hard, uphill the entire way, then obviously downhill the whole way back. Can get confusing as it’s not marked very well. Use AllTrails to help it made it much easier. Summit is gorgeous. We would definitely do this one again.

This hike was both challenging and fun! If you're feeling up for a bit of an adventure, definitely check this out. I recommend a nice hiking stick as well.

This is the ideal starting point for anyone visiting Whiteface. With the addition of the Notch lift a few years ago, Bears Den is now the easiest way to get on the slopes quickly. Even on a busy day, very few non-begginers start there day here. There was never a line longer than 2 to 3 people. Parking is abundant and a shorter walk to the snow. If you want to warm up the legs, easy terrain is exclusively found in this area OR if you want to immediately move up the mountain, you can do that by catching an additional lift (OR skiing down to the base lodge where you will see long lines in the morning.) You likely won't use this side of the mountain for too long if you are an intermediate or above, but it's a great way to start the morning without any lines. If you are a beginner, this entire area is...

Awesome hike and views of Whiteface and Little Whiteface. The trail is used for mountain biking, snow shoeing, and hiking. Upon registering at the trail head, you will see a sign that has a map of the trails. Make sure to study it before following the trail up to the summit. The trail starts out flat before becoming steep. No views until you reach the summit. If you are a beginner I wouldn’t suggest this hike. If you have children I would tack on another 45 minutes since the trail is challenging at points. It took my husband and I about an hour to reach the top but we did stop in some area’s to...
