The rest of the library seems ok. Generally speaking , the windows are old and let in a lot of noise and sound. My main review is for the children’s playroom. A lot of parents treat the room like a daycare letting their kids destroy toys and play rough around small kids. Most times, the room is OVERCROWDED, like 30-40 kids in the room. Staff doesn’t monitor and there doesn’t seem to be an occupancy limit. Then, you have ALOT of BIG children who are too old to be using that room. They sometimes crash into smaller kids. A lot of parents don’t have good parenting skills to simply tell their kid to stop or play gentle.

Also noticed some parents segregating their kids from playing with other kids of other nationalities ( why bring your kid to a public space then ? Stay home !) just bad vibes.

The toys are outdated. Messy. Missing pieces. The first few times I went there, it seemed ok. Now, after some time, the room has become a chaotic room overrun with big kids. There doesn’t seem to be an age restriction to the room which there should be.

Honestly I would not recommend bringing your kid to this library. Probably better they play in a park .

Thank you for the kind reply . Clearly there must be an age limit on the room since the toys are for little kids, not for 10-14year olds . Second, I’m quite sure if the fire department saw 40 kids In the room , not counting the parents, that would be a clear violation. 100 percent. It is so crowded in there on some days that I actually risk to trip over a child or someone’s feet. What happens if there’s an emergency ? You have the front desk girls sitting there, during busy hours, one girl should be in the room monitoring . This is the standard at all other playrooms . That playroom is an accident...

Seems like a nice enough library. I went there for a first selectmen debate through the League of Women Voters and it was in a nice, new looking room. It was bright, had a stage large enough for the candidates to each sit at a table more than 6' apart. They seemed to have a good sound system and wireless mics for the candidates and moderator, so they seem well equipped to host this type of thing.
