I live right down the street and i really enjoy going. For a few years i went fishing practically every day. They stock quite frequently with trout in the winter up until the of February then, stocked with catfish until late July. That's not all. There are soccer feilds and baseball feilds and ya they get used. Seasonal tournaments of all ages from 6 yrs. - 18 yrs. I'm sure. They also have multiple Ramadas and two playgrounds for the kids for parties or picnics. Its fun to just go with snacks and drinks and watch the games. It is a farely large park with a walking path that wraps around the lake and around a couple of the soccer feilds for a nice walk, run or jog. The people that are in the neighborhood and visit the park/lake are very friendly and will sit and talk. Its is rather sunny and warm during the day but if you go early morning or evening its 👍. So come on out to Lakeside Park...
Read moreI was impressed and interested in Lakeside Park when I initially heard of it's existence not long after I had moved to Tucson back in1996, and it is an interesting feature, a lake in a quiet Eastside neighborhood. Ok once the initial fascination of a large water feature in the middle of the desert passes, however; it is a very average, somewhat dull experience. The lake is not well maintained, the landscaping is bland, the fish are not cared for very well and that makes fishing the lake a anticlimactic experience. The lakes and other related water features at Reid Park are much more enjoyable, though there is plenty of room for improvement at that park as well. I'd you find yourself looking to kill 10 to 15 minutes of a random evening, head on over to Lakeside, it's always good for a...
Read moreThis park and both Lincoln parks have taken down playground equipment that in my opinion were beneficial to the kids. Now they have a small playground in a large park (upper Lincoln) and a very small playground in this park (Lakeside) as in: one swing set with 2 swings and weird climbing wiggling pod thingies. Bring back a large playground for Lakeside park. As a long-time east side resident (38 years) I've seen Lakeside Park go from a small park with a lake that was fairly level with the rest of the park, was in Junior High when the dam broke...and flooded everything downhill from it... and Chuck Ford was at the time the principal at Reynolds elementary. I miss the natural aspects of the park. We used to play flashlight tag in this park around sunset... Now most of the trees are gone. This park lacks a lot of...
