Bark Barracks is an amazing spot for dog owners and their furry companions! This park is incredibly spacious, giving dogs plenty of room to run, play, and just be happy. One of the things we love most is how well-thought-out the layout is—there are designated off-leash areas where pups can roam freely, as well as fenced-in sections for those who prefer a little more structure. Plus, there are plenty of spots to sit, restrooms nearby, and even places to grab a bite to eat, which makes it convenient for both pets and their humans.
Another huge perk is the surrounding walking trails. If your pup has endless energy, these paths are a fantastic way to get them moving and guarantee a good nap later!
That said, one thing to keep in mind is the weather. Since there aren’t a lot of shaded areas, it’s important to be mindful of when you visit—especially during the hotter months. On high UV days, it can get pretty warm, so bringing extra water and planning visits earlier or later in the day can make a big difference.
If we could offer any positive recommendations, adding more shaded areas would be a fantastic upgrade to keep pups cool when they need a break. Also, a few extra water stations throughout the park would be a great addition for both dogs and their owners.
Overall, this is such a wonderful place to bring your dog. It’s well-maintained, has a great atmosphere, and provides the perfect space for dogs to socialize and burn off some energy. We absolutely recommend it—just plan ahead for those warm days, and you and your pup will have an...
Read moreThis review is specifically only for the dog park,"Bark Barracks." It's a beautiful open space for dogs. However my experience here has been abysmal. For the 10 times I've come here, it's been closed 9 times for maintenance. The hours of operation state it's open 6 am to 10 pm HOWEVER in addition to closing on Fridays from 6 am to 12 pm, it has been closed for maintenance on all other odd days, sometimes for rain, sometimes for sunset, making my trek out here in the early mornings and after work a complete waste of time and the $3 parking for the 15 min we're looking for a spot to poop between all the foxtails.
Other issues: foxtails are deliberately planted everywhere around the park - talk about a serious health hazard for the dogs getting in and out of the park there's minimal signage and address, so the dog park is difficult to find there's a tiny dog park not far from there but not maintained and you have to bring your own poop bags park has...
Read moreThis park has almost zero utility. The list of prohibited activities is so long that it doesn't leave much that you can do and it even prohibits things that are not possible to do. For instance there are no barbecue pits. There is also zero shade as no shade has been constructed and all of the trees are shorter than I am. The grass is also dead. This seems like an afterthought of a park. It appears that some years later a bridge may connect it but right now the park stops at the next street. The final nail in the coffin is that the construction of the walkways is shoddy as well. There are significant gaps in the sidewalk which create tripping hazards. There are plenty of good parks at Tustin Legacy but this isn't...
