The gardens are absolutely beautiful, don’t get me wrong. It’s a lovely place to take pictures, my one star review is based solely on the way we were treated & spoken to. It was a busy night, being prom night & Easter weekend. We had heard highly of this place & went to take maternity pictures for our first pregnancy, these pictures were really important to me. I understood things were busy & chaotic so we spent a lot of time waiting & allowing the prom attendees to get their pictures first, as they had somewhere to be & we didn’t. We got our pictures done & most everyone had left out but us 3: our photographer, my husband, & I, & we were just taking some last minute poses we had previously missed when we were yelled at from across the yard, “Leave, now.” mind you, it was 7:15 & the sun was still setting, we had plenty of light & there weren’t any hours posted anywhere so we were unaware of any rules we could have possibly been ‘breaking’ & at first we thought maybe we had misheard her, so we asked politely, “I’m sorry?” To which she responded rudely with “The lawn is closed, you need to leave, now.” My husband responded “there are nicer ways of saying that, but don’t worry we are leaving.” To which she again said, “Okay, leave. Now” while we were heading towards the exit gate.. my husband told her to have a good weekend & a Happy Easter & she muttered “spick” under her breath at him .. not sure if it was because we are an interracial couple or if this woman was just having a bad day, but it goes without saying we will never be back. There was no reason to have been so rude & to use racial slurs to get your point across .. I feel like someone who has their property open to the public should have better people skills than that of which were...

The Pyron Garden in Tyler is an absolute hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates nature, beauty, and Southern charm. Nestled in the heart of the historic Azalea District, this privately-owned garden feels like a secret sanctuary that’s been lovingly shared with the public. It’s open year-round during daylight hours, and the best part—admission is free!

From the moment you step through the gates, you’re transported into a peaceful oasis filled with vibrant azaleas, camellias, dogwoods, and roses. Every inch of the garden is carefully curated and immaculately maintained. Strolling along the winding paths, you’ll find whimsical sculptures, bubbling fountains, a lovely greenhouse, and a storybook-style gazebo. There’s even a quaint walking bridge that makes for the perfect photo op.

What really sets the Pyron Garden apart is the sense of tranquility it provides—whether you’re visiting during the spring bloom of the Azalea Trail or just taking a quiet afternoon stroll, it always feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s also a favorite spot for local photographers and a popular backdrop for engagement and graduation photos.

You can tell that this is a true labor of love, and it’s amazing that the Pyron family shares it so generously with the community. It’s no surprise the garden has been featured in Southern Living and Texas Monthly. It’s a perfect representation of the beauty and hospitality East Texas has to offer.

If you’re ever in Tyler, don’t miss this serene slice of paradise. It’s peaceful, picturesque, and full of charm—truly one of Tyler’s...

We will NEVER be back! The woman that owns the garden called me a “spick” I kid you not! I could not believe it, my wife and I were getting our maternity pictures taken for our first baby and we had been there about an hour it was very busy being prom night there were a lot of older kids taking pictures as well as us so we spent a lot of time waiting but we wanted to get the pictures taken before sunset. It was about 7:10, 7:15 and we were the last ones there, my wife, I, and my sister (our photographer). The lady yelled at us from across lawn and we didn’t hear her clearly so we walked over to her and asked what she had said. She proceeded to tell us “The lawn is closed, you need to leave now.” I simply said “um ma’am there are nicer ways of saying that but don’t worry we’re leaving” she then said “okay, leave now.” We were leaving and I looked back and told her “well I hope you have a good weekend and a great Easter” she then said “spick” and turned and walked away.. I was in disbelief from the experience. Completely shocked! This was completely uncalled for! That being said under no circumstance would that have been acceptable. Once again we will NEVER EVER be back and I hope this lady still has a great weekend and a great Easter because she seems to need a pick me up, her being as bitter as she was tonight.. I’m not typically one to leave a bad review but my wife was so excited for these photos and her experience was ruined because of a bitter old...

Pyron Garden is a true hidden treasure! This was my first visit and I was in awe of the beauty. The orchid in the greenhouse was simply magnificent, and the grounds themselves were breathtaking. Meeting the owner was a highlight; her genuine warmth and desire to share her garden with others is truly heartwarming. It’s evident she sees it as a gift meant to be enjoyed by all. I highly recommend a visit – you won’t be disappointed!

I had no idea Pyron Gardens would be so beautiful in azalea season. We saw lots of people taking Easter photos. I loved the fragrance in the garden from all the flowers. Everyone was really respectful of others photos and time to meander. I highly recommend going in spring during the azalea trail. Even my husband (who is not an outdoorsy guy) enjoys the gardens. Definitely take some spring photos while there.
