We had our first trip to Parlee Farms this past weekend. The kids had a ball and so did we! What a great place! My husband kept commenting on how clean it was and how great everything was set up and how great the strawberry plants looked. The owners and staff take great pride in their property, animals and crop. The prices were reasonable and it was great to be able to see the animals without paying extra. My kids had no interest in feeding them, though I did and it was fun. It cost 25Cents for some food to feed the animals, a small price to pay since they didn't charge admission into the petting zoo area. Clever way to help recoup the costs of caring for the animals. The fencing was all safe and I never worried about the children around the animals. The goats in trees playground for the goats was hysterical! Kids loved watching them way up high and asking questions... How did they get up there! I personally LOVE goats! The tractor training course was so cute. The kids did not partake in this trip, but they wanted to. The strawberry feilds were immaculate. Plants were well kept and great for picking. Early morning on a Saturday was quiet but still busy. We picked a great time to go. The strawberry donuts were delish! Kids devoured them and wanted more. I wish there was more to look at in the farm stand. Maybe more local art work, pictures of the farm or maybe family photos. The ice cream stand we did not try out but will in our next trip. I have been working with Ellen on planning my son's birthday party at the farm in August and I can't wait! Reasonable prices for the party and includes ice cream, tractor ride, seeing the animals and picking blueberries! Can't wait. They are doing more work to expand the farm, it's evident that they take great pride in their operation and what they have. I respect all that goes into a business of this nature. I remember telling my husband all they need now is a garden center and they've got everything I need in the summertime! I look forward to future visits. Great place, well worth the trip and a wonderful place for some...
Read moreWe have been coming here for years I enjoy coming they have very yummy doughnuts. We also enjoy the apple crisp wonderful with ice cream. The crowds can be insane so we went on a bad weather day late in the day so it wasn't too bad. They normally have a tractor ride and a really fun hay Maze thats very popular they didn't this year due to covid. They have a store with fresh seasonal items and yummy bakery items. They sell yummy corn on the cob I think its steamed maybe dipped in butter. There's an ice cream stand where you get the apple crisp and ice cream. They have yummy ice cream we enjoyed it. There are animal areas with goats chickens and rabbit you can buy feed for. Its a nice area the kids love it. Also they have a pumpkin patch and hay rides that lead to apple picking its a little pricey for us so we usually skip that but I did it once with friends and the hay ride was nice and the apples tasted really good. They seem to have put in alot of covid precautions which is great. My only issues were the bathrooms were pretty dirty and also the picnic table area there was no one cleaning the tables. We had the doughnuts walked around doing other activities came back 45 minutes later and the same tables had the same messes. If they were short staffed it would be one thing but there was lots of staff including several staff members walking around the eating area picking up trash on the ground with one of those grabber sticks. Maybe one of them could do the tables sanitize and clean them between guests and the other one could handle the trash. They force you to eat there at the tables but if its dirty its not making me feel to safe the same with the bathrooms. Other than that its a nice place and one our ...
Read moreAbsolutely BEAUTIFUL farm with a very family friendly atmosphere. Food is incredible ( cider donuts are good enough to die for) with plenty of activities for the whole family. Animal viewing ( goats, bunny's and birds), hay maze ( when covid-19 doesn't ruin it), tractor rides and more. Their selection of farm fresh produce is off the map. Gladly take the family here every fall.
(Update: 10/05/24)....I've been taking my family here for years, it's been a staple tradition every fall since 2009. I used to love it. And while I still love the atmosphere, the quality of produce is still excellent BUT, what was once a fine family establishment has become a profiteering greedfest. When you have to pay $15 for a bag (1/2 peck) AND $2 per person for the tractor 🚜 ride, it's not too much to ask that the whole family be allowed to enjoy it! But for the first time ever, this year we were told that buying the bag only allows 1 person in to pick...regardless of whether you take the tractor ride or walk. So if a family has 3 kids but only wants a 5lb bag of apples, only 1 kid can go pick...and they're going to have to be old enough to go without parents supervision...or pay EVEN MORE just for the pleasure of being "ALLOWED" to go pick the exact same amount of apples!!! I get that times are difficult for everyone and that the price of everything has gone up. But when you start charging for EVERY ASPECT of the experience....you lose my business. My family and I will be finding a new place to go next year for the first time in over a decade....so here's some photos from our last trip to Parlee...
