The absolute WORST customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. We ordered 2 pizzas tonight and were told they would be ready in 20-25 minutes. After the food was ordered we left, a ten minute drive MAX. When we got there, the food was already ready and we took it immediately home. The pizza was opened immediately when it was returned home and it was already ice cold. There was literally no warmth, I WISH I was exaggerating.
When we called to express this with management we first spoke with Roberta about the issue. We were offered new food in its place, however after the experience we just wanted to have the money ($60 worth of food) refunded. First, she said she could refund the money directly to the card and we would not have to come in because she “wouldn’t want us to miss the game.” Then she called back a few minutes later and claimed she could not refund the card because they couldn’t do it electronically with the new system and we would have to come in to pick up the money. Kind of inconvenient to have to come back considering if the food wasn’t cold we wouldn’t even be having this problem but still we were grateful to have come to a solution.
We were about to leave to come pick up the money and we’re called by Ried who claimed to be Roberta’s manager. While no one was called a lair directly (bc that was deff the main point of my boyfriend’s post), he proceeded to explain all these hypothetical situations that could have happened, like that we must have left it in the car or on the “cold floor” and that’s why our pizza was cold. When we kept explaining that the pizza was brought directly home and there was no way that the pizza was fresh, we were only answered with more hypotheticals that must have happened in order for our food to be bad. The only solution that was offered was to “write our name down to get a free pizza the next time we come in.” He also proceeded to talk over the person in my family who was on the phone with him and raise his voice when she was trying to explain why we were unsatisfied. The reason I know this is because I could hear what he was saying on the phone to her from across the room.
I completely understand that businesses may have certain policies that every customer may not like, however why would you have one manager say one thing and a different manager say another... It seems like they never were going to give us the refund from the beginning, would give us an answer to make us “happy,” and then off the phone try to figure out how to get us to just taking the food instead. All this for $60... I’m so happy that three twenties are more important to this management than customer satisfaction. The phrase “the customers always right” doesn’t NOT apply at this restaurant..YIKES. I’ll make sure to let everyone know how this business treats their customers so hopefully no one else has to have this...
Read moreThos was my 1st visit. Pizza was very good, brick oven style, with lightly burnt edges on the crust on just one side (intentional if you want to follow the Itallian/Sicilian oven-cooked technique). Menu has a few other selections besides pizza, but the pevious proprieter at this joint used to be known for its pizza (the oven was built before this outfit bought the place), so I had to check out the pizza first.
Huge selection of 16oz (only) draught beers on tap, more than 40 or so, served very cold, not just below room temperature which is better for tasting the nuance of flavors within draught beer. Some beers are local, some national, and a few international. Food prices are OK, but the draught beer should be a bit cheaper. But this is located right against the NH/Mass. border, and Mass. Puritan-style laws push responsibility for drunk driver fatalities to include the alcohol servers (which is whack). So essentially the restaurants' liability insurance-company get a cut from each draught beer sold, hence the higher than expected prices. However, from a customer point of view: this means 2 beers cost more than ordering 1 no-toppings pizza! So be prepared that 2 beers plus 1 pizza (plus Mass. meal tax and gratuity) while watching 1 of their many HD TV's, over the course of 1 hour, will not be friendly to your wallet, unless you planned on it being that way before you drove there. And I dont know about you, but I need 2 beers to wash down 1 pizza, especially when it has great, lightly-burnt and crispy-dry...
Read moreVery first impression: "It smells in here."
I'll get to that in a bit.
First off, food was stellar. Apps were awesome and pizza was great. I only got a salad myself, but it was also great. Beer selection is amazing, 30+ beers. (Actually, like 50 or something, they nailed it!)
So food aside - the aforementioned smell. Strong sewage smell right as you walk in, from the bathrooms.
From one maintenance guy, sympathetic to another - the bathroom drains are dry. About a cup of bleach and some water will mitigate the issue. They make drains that will autofeed and never go dry, but when they do, they stink. (and really, nobody wants to rip a floor up just to replace a drain.) Also, on the guy who said the bathrooms were awful - the men's room was immaculate. Can't speak for the women's room, obviously.
All in all, a great experience, and I'm glad I finally visited. I'll probably be back. You can't smell "the smell" anymore about a half hour after being in here, it does give way to whatever tge urinal things are and food, but mostly smells like 'nothing' when you're used to it. An unfortunate topic of discussion when you first come in, but once you get settled it's pretty much gone.
So... tl;dr, put some water in the bathroom drains, caulk the toilets where they meet the wall, and keep on making awesome food and supporting the local beer industry. As someone who lives at work to get our product out there, thank you for carrying it.
See...
