This is an old hospital, sugar Mill, rum factory, and plantation that is now used by the Nature Conservancy. Technically it's currently closed to the public, which we didn't realize as the gate was open and we drove in and just walked around. A very nice man came up to us and told us it was closed for safety as it suffered damage during the hurricane. We still managed to see the place (only takes like 10 minutes walking around) and there's a little path down to the beach which is very nice and deserted. Be careful down by the abandoned factory as my boyfriend got stung by a bee!

So unfortunately we where a day late for their tours that currently are on Tuesday (soon to be Tuesday & Thursday). Walked around the property and met the manager who gave us a paper to self guid. It’s amazing to see the layout and progression of history with the buildings that lasted throughout all these years and hurricanes.

Great place to freely walk around the property. Being able to walk the paths while being able to see and touch history was an experience. I would HIGHLY recommend bug spray for your legs and wear closed toe shoes... Dutchess (Dog) was a perfect tour guide. lol
