Had a great day at the bike park. Everyone there was super friendly, and the trails were long and fun. I really liked the construction of the trails where there was plenty of features to play on but they were all optional things to do as you were going down. Glad that I came here for a day instead of driving all the way to Big Bear. (1 hr vs 2 1/2 hr drive).
The green from the top starts off really fun. The last 1/2 mile or so has a decent amount of uphill though. I recommend if you're looking for a pure downhill run you start with the blue at the top. Once you get past the first incline you can go full down all the way. Then transition to the green at the big trail fork.
As an intermediate rider I loved the trail construction, definitely a plus. It's not "groomed" to perfection, but they're long and fun pretty much the whole way down.
The food at the bar/grill at the gas station was pretty good. The burger was well made. The guy working there was attentive and friendly.
Yeah the shuttle is a bit bumpy.
Suggestions for improvement: Wayyy more signs (literally like 5 more or something) and better map. I got completely lost looking for where I was supposed to park for the "bike park". It was an unmarked turn off onto a dirt road. The map the park has is nicely drawn, but the important spots are not emphasized, and the bike park map's streets differ from the campground map's streets. The grill, the main parking, and the bike shop should be clear to read. Also the paths between the parking and the shuttle pickup should be clearly delineated. There's some signs yes but not clear enough still.
It's already a bit of an ask to go between the bike shop/parking/grill (esp since the grill is up the hill). Making it very clear how to get between the 3 is important imo.
Small ask, a bike rack at the grill to lock up the bike while you go inside.
Thanks again for a...
Read moreThis place is flat out EPIC!!! There's no other way to describe it. I've been riding Luiseno pretty much every Friday and Monday since I discovered this place 8 weeks ago. In that short 8 weeks they've opened 2 brand new EPIC trail heads, put in tons of trail maintenance, and extended the road so the shuttle now takes you all the up. Thats right, no more pedaling or hiking your bike unless that's your thing and you choose to do so. Personally pedaling and hiking aren't my thing. I prefer being chauffeured to the top and smashing the entire way down. From what I hear they plan on consistently upgrading the park including, paved shuttle roads, possible lift, dual slalom course, DJ jumps and much more. The park is absolutely amazing, there's nothing like it outside 3+ hour drives to mtn resorts that are only open seasonally. The staff is also amazing. Nelson, Trevor, and Drew are just a few of the park employees that have gone above and beyond to make me and my friends feel welcome and help us in anyway they possibly can whether its advice on bike parts and merch, bike repairs, rental bikes including enduro e-bikes, trail knowledge, riding tips, and much more . Not to mention these guys all shred!! If you ride mtb and like climbing, descents, jump lines, flow lines, or tech and you haven't been to Luiseno Bike Park then you're doing yourself a massive disservice. I don't know what more I can say it's literally mtb heaven so go check it...

12-28-23 La Jolla Indian reservation. This was my first time here. Props to all the trail builders and special thanks the Luiseño tribe for use of their land.
My review of the park, I will be back soon. They have everything I am looking for as an intermediate/advanced rider. Beginners will also have a blast. The green runs are perfect for all skill levels. My Strava shows a 36mph peak on the Sage Shoot run. Intermediate riders will learn their skills fast here because the runs are each about 2 miles long and are a bit tiring for me (not a complaint). You get two runs (upper and lower) per shuttle trip up (About 30 minutes). If you get down fast enough and I was able to get right back on. After 5 shuttle runs, I was a bit beat. I think it was 18+ miles of down hilling in a day for me. This type of mileage with all the features has to allow for a fast progression of skills. I also got to jump into the air bag which is super awesome, I highly recommend it, I hit it 4 times and think I could spend a day just hitting that thing. This place is way worth the price of admission in my opinion. Don’t debate if it's worth it or not, JUST GO and find out. You will also have a blast on the shuttle, and you don’t even have to pay extra for those rides.
So an extra thanks goes out to the...
