I absolutely love this place! It's always best in late spring and early fall, before the summer tourist pile in. There's a boat ramp for loading and unloading, a bathroom/outhouse at the parking lot, a shallow sandy swim area great for luttle ones if u follow the wooden pathway to the left of the ramp, there's 2 large concrete pad areas, a huge pavillion area with picnic tables and a grill area that is always a favorite for birthdays and family get togethers, and a fairly long gravel bar if u follow the walking path down the small inbankment. There is also a campground here with a camp host stationed at the start of the camping spots from early summer to mid-late fall. Summer time, especially holidays like the 4th of July this place is crowded and you will be lucky to find a spot after 9am. It's usually not too bad from Mondays to Wednesday. Thursdays is when the tourist start piling in our beautiful little town and stay until Sunday (in most cases). It's right in the middle of town only minutes away from the store/hotels/gas stations/restaurants and etc. This is both of my kiddo's favorite place to jump in and cool off in the Current bc of the fallen tree they live to jump off of just a few feet into the water at the first...

I think this can fairly be called an Undiscovered treasure since it's got about 15 or so sites, for an exceptionally good price, presently $10/night, and yet on a weekend there was only one other campsite being occupied! So it's like having a piece of the Mark Twain National Forest...
