Niswonger Performing Arts Center - Van Wert Live — Attraction in Van Wert

We saw Home Free and The Longest Johns, and what a show it was!. Home Free is an a capella country band and The Longest Johns is full instrument folk band from Bristol England. I know it doesn't sound like it should work, but work it did. Home Free just released an album of sea shanty songs and that is what this tour was promoting. These boys sang their hearts out, harmonized beautiful and gave us a show to remember. The staff at Niswonger was friendly and knowledgeable. I am in a wheelchair & was unsure if I could enter a certain door. One of the women outside on break assured us we could and gave directions to get where we needed to be. Of course all of the ushers are nothing but smiles and let me show you, let me help you, etc. And not in a fake way either, you can quickly tell those who are faking it. We bought tickets to see Cam at the Van Wert County fair. We drove over 3 hours to see her perform. They canceled her performance and didn't announce it. The van wert fairgrounds had multiple opportunities to announce her cancelation, but never did. Now they are telling the artist that they announced the cancelation half an hour before the start of the show. Myself and several other people were sitting in the grandstands well before 7, and it was never announced. They are trying to throw the artist under the bus for their screw-up. I don't recommend seeing any performances thrown by Van Wert Live at the Van Wert County fair. You will be highly disappointed and out of a...

Ok, I have been to see two concerts at Niswonger, the Rippingtons and Christopher Cross. A+ for drawing names like that to van Wert, Oh. The theater ,visually, is stunning. BUT, the sound is horrid. I'm a musician and have done live sound for years. The p.a. leaves much to be desired. I am also a plumber by trade and know how much was spent on the restroom fixtures, they weren't cheap.
