Vergennes City Park — Attraction in Vergennes

I had seen that the eclipse was going to be passing over Vergennes. I did a Google search to find a park in the city. Vergennes city park looked like a good place. I did not look into it though. We found a parking spot there at least. We have 2 children, 9 and 4, and I figured a city park would have a playground and bathrooms. I was wrong. There are no bathrooms in Vergennes. Not even at the pizza place Rocco's. Luckily, a nice man that works at lulus (no bathroom) told me that the elementary school a few blocks away has a playground. And a port a potty. Vergennes city should really have a bathroom near the park. In my opinion, a park isn't a park unless there are swings and a slide for kids. And...

I may be biased but I love this little park right in the center of town. Nice level shady lawn for sitting out on and people watching, close to shops and ice cream, tourist booth, and bandstand, surrounded on 4 sides by quaint vergennes architecture.
