Big Barn Furniture — Local services in Vergennes

We purchased our table and chairs in the early spring of 2022. Every single chair was not glued or secured together. The tops were all loose. We didn’t notice at first because we only used 4 out of 8 chairs regularly. One of the chairs we used regularly fell apart after a month. We requested a replacement placement but it took a long time to arrive. We swapped out the new one and then another one fell apart. We replaced it with another chair in the set for use and that one fell apart. As we were getting ready to request a replacement we discovered every single chair was not secured. The legs and the backs were all lightly nailed, but the nails had missed their marks apparently. Best part is the replacement chair we got DID THE SAME THING. We ended up gluing them together because you know, we needed a place to sit, since we got rid of our old table and chairs. Since the replacement also broke it was pointless to keep swapping them out. The chairs are still falling apart. We need to fully replace them all. And we won’t be doing it through Big Barn. The salesman went on and on about how he’d had this same style set for decades and they are beautifully made. 🙄 We were also told the table is solid wood. It is not.

I had 40 dollar amazon chairs last me 10 years. I expected more from a ‘reputable’ company that sells...

We will NOT be doing any business with Big Barn Home Center after picking up our chest this Saturday. They not only told my husband after he ordered a dresser that they would be willing to meet us with it in Montpelier, but now they have gone back on their word and will only meet in Williston. While on the phone with them, the customer service lady told me what my husband had told me was a lie and she never said it could be delivered in Montpelier, but that EIGHT hours wasn’t enough time to contact us that the dresser wasn’t in stock and it had to be ordered, and the email states when it will be in stock(to which it does not!) it just states “we’re getting ready to ship your order”, and then the shipping method is “customer pick-up”. The website also states they don’t deliver outside of the service area(Vermont and upstate New York), but we’re IN VERMONT, and they won’t deliver it to us.

It’s also really funny she told me she remembers exactly what she said to him, but that “he came so fast after ordering(he ordered the evening before), and that he came “after lunch”, but he was rushing to get there before they closed at 5.

What a great experience! I had no idea this place existed and I have lived in the Ferrisburgh / Vergennes area for almost five years. One day my mom (who lives in NY) asked me if I had been to the furniture store in Vergennes, I said what furniture store?

Well the next time she was up visiting she took me there and I was amazed to to see just how furniture they carry! They were also super friendly and very helpful. Had I know about this place sooner I would have purchased my two recliners instead of driving all the way into Williston. Anyways, I've been look for a new mattress and they had them along with a great 0% financing deal going on so I bought one!

Well the mattress and box spring were delivered today and I couldn't be happier!!!! Thank you Big Barn Home Center, I'm coming back to see you to furnish the rest of...
