Dollar General — Attraction in Vermilion

I'm a regular customer for several years at the Dollar General on Liberty Avenue in Vermilion, OH. The employees have always been friendly, pleasant and helpful until recently.

This is the 2nd time in the past week or so I went to the store. Both times I asked the same female employee for help (didn't catch her name).

Today 6/27/24 at 7pm was my 2nd visit. There were only 2 employees working 1 male and 1 female so I'm sure someone can figure out who she is.

On both of those days when asking a question she stared at me as if I was talking to a brick wall. When she finally noticed I was talking she had to turn off her ear piece from listening to music.

I asked if the store had a certain product. She didn't know what the product was. I explained it to her and she abruptly replied "its probably over there". Didnt say weather or not they carried the product, didn't offer to find out or suggest anything else. Turned her ear piece back on and continued what she was doing as if she didn't have time to be bothered. This girl could of cared less. I wish I could explain the tone that went with it.

So, I placed the items I was going to buy back on a shelf and left. Not sure if I'll ever go back.

1 time I can see maybe having a bad day which is why I didn't write the 1st time. 2nd time, you obviously have poor customer service skills. Wish I would of seen the other employee 1st but didn't see him until I was walking...

Most mornings management is outside smoking with other employees. Who is watching the store? Self check out only works half the time. Have seen customers leave instead of waiting on the smokers to return to ring them up. Old lady manager is really nice but always outside smoking. Are there no cameras that corporate watches? How much theft occurs while staff is outfront smoking? I've...

Incredibley horrible establishment, i was harassed by staff and they talked about me behind my back to my friends (not knowing i was friends with them of course.) they follow you while you shop and i set something down because i felt them watching me and they ran in, picked it up and passive aggressively said,"ill put that back for you."
