3 stars because though there are a lot of great things about it, the policies are just dumb. The staff was great, it was a fun place, pretty clean, and pretty good equipment - though it's not well lit, the drinking fountains were broken, and it was pretty cold inside. We had fun playing for my son's birthday party, but their party policies are unclear and confusing. Nowhere, when I booked the party (which includes entrance for 10 kids), did it say you can only arrive 5 minutes prior to the room reservation, which I didn't appreciate because I wanted to schedule the room for 5:00pm but couldn't because that wasn't an option (even though no one had the room booked before us) and we wanted to start the party then and play before eating pizza and cake at 6:00 (playing before eating, so kids don't get sick). It took several phone calls and convincing the manager to let us play before our room reservation (even though when we got there, there was almost no one else there). The website and signs on the door say "No outside food or drink", but then there is a place to eat food and the other guests I saw there were eating outside food, so it's stated everywhere but not enforced? For the party, we couldn't bring outside food (aside from the cake and water bottles), and had to order through them. BUT they only offered a couple kinds of pizza, and it turns out, they just go buy it from Marco's in Lindon. Good pizza, but why couldn't I buy it from Marco's or anywhere else myself and bring it in? Then I would've been able to have more choices than just pepperoni or cheese pizza. Plus, the staff member who went to pick it up got lost so we couldn't start our pizza party in the room until 25 minutes after our scheduled time anyway (poor kids were getting hungry). I asked if we could bring in a veggie or fruit tray (minimal mess and something healthy) and they absolutely refused saying it was against policy, but they don't offer anything healthy, just the pizza and juice boxes. I assumed they would have enough plates for us since we ordered 8 pizzas, but they only provided 10 plates for the kids (I guess adults don't get plates). I didn't know so I didn't bring our own and then they charge 50 cents a paper plate if you want any extras. It's truly wild! So yeah, the play place is safe and fun for the kids to play, but their party policies are nuts and don't make any sense, so I can't fully recommend it, for a birthday party, at least. And FYI, the party rooms are pretty small so the kids fit fine but the adults were crowded around the edges just standing with only a few...
Read moreRented a party room for my daughters 1st birthday, I called before I booked the space to ask if they would let us bring other food options because we have several guests with special food needs. Three people with celiacs & one diabetic. The girl on the phone said yes, we could bring outside food to accommodate people with special dietary needs. I called a second time to confirm party details & again was re-assured I could bring food to accommodate dietary needs. When they called to confirm the day before I again was re-assured there was no issue with bringing in food to accommodate people with dietary restrictions.
20 minutes into our party one of the workers comes to tell me that the owner has been watching our party on the video camera & is not happy because we have outside food. She said the owner wants us to take all of our food out to our car......what?!? I brought a fruit salad, some chips & a veggie tray in addition to purchasing 4 pizza’s through coconut cove. Seems pretty harmless to me.
I ask to speak with the owner on the phone. I let her know I got permission not once, not twice but three times. She keeps asking me who told me that & what their names were...I don’t remember & that’s not my job. She proceeded to tell me that her workers are new & young & most likely didn’t know what cielacs is. She said if they had fully understood they would have told me they offer gluten free pizza. I told her that gluten free pizza is not mentioned any where in the website & she said her husband would fix that.
She told me I was only allowed to bring substitute food for people who have the food issues - apparently no one else in the party is allowed to eat that food also. 🤣 I was allowed to keep my food as long as we were clean & didn’t make a mess.
It took 5 minutes for the worker to explain to me there was an issue. Another 15 minutes to deal with the owner. I lost 20 minutes of my daughters first birthday to deal with this petty garbage. You only get the space for an 1.5 hours.
Long story short, if any one in your party has special needs dietary or other wise don’t expect this business to be flexible or understanding. They will spy on you to see what your eating & doing. They will harass you & take away from the occasion & if that weren’t enough, you bill will be close to $200 & they want to be tipped for good service upon checking out.................SUCH A JOKE!
You will have more fun having a birthday at McDonald’s play place, the service & food will...
Read moreI had an awful experience with coconut cove on Wed 8/18. In Lindon. Utah.
I am a first time, single (older)mother w a 22 mos old attempting to attend a bday party.
I totally should have researched and known what this place was and that they would need a waiver. Hindsight 2020. Im the customer tho, right? Humans aren't perfect..
I arrived to the 3 attendants behind the counter sitting on stools. They helped 1 family in front of me. I approached birthday gift in hand and was not greeted and unsure of procedures and by this time my son had taken off.
I let them know the last name of the party and was informed of a party check in number. 1 woman spent good 5 minutes attempting to retrieve said party number and write it on a post it note.
All was assumed and not explained. Mind you I've got an almost 2 yr old running all over and not one woman standing to pay attention, let alone help.
I feel 60 yrs old writing this because I was not getting my phone to scan the waiver info and then I was directed to the laptops I could also use to sign the waiver. (Covid 2021)
There "conveniently placed" was a post it w my said party info I'd duplicity been given over the last 5 minutes, unnecessarily.
I spent 10 minutes attempting to watch my boy not leave the premise while filling in the waiver. I tried to submit twice, nothing. 2 of the attendants behind the counter attempted to direct me while not even standing. I was definitely visibly, frustrated. I ask if someone could come over to help rather than direct me to what " should" be on my screen. Thw all gasped and almost lol.. A snobby woman trudged over and then touched the screen at the same time as me and made the screen delete it all and told me to start over..( the issue was over the stupid party number, again!)
I then expressed frustration as I'm now 15 min late to a party. My son running all over w shoes on.. Then the $2.50 sock talk🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Can I sign a paper waiver? No, we don't have that. i ask for an exception and basically laughed at.....
I left. Here I am almost 2 days later still upset. Wanting to leave a fair but accurate review. Be nice to parents. We're the ones who are looking for birthday venues next month!
Seriously hope a manager takes this seriously!
Also parking super sucked at 4 pm on a Wednesday. I can't imagine a...
