AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum — Attraction in Violet Township

The museum has a very nice layout of motorcycles, spanning several different genres and decades of motorcycle history. The bikes are impressive and many look mint condition (and/or fabulously restored) even the oldest of motorcycles there; with most having information placards posted about each bike and suits/helmets. HOWEVER: the entry price is too steep (at $10 a head for adults) for a museum that is soo small. My son and I traversed it in the span of 40 minutes. I was also supremely disappointed to not find any current super bikes/motogp prototypes or any info on current racers that are worthy of the Motorcycle Hall Of Fame (aka Max Biaggi or Valentino Rossi)... I mean, I understand this is backed by the AMA and lean more towards American riders... so.. what about Nicky Hayden?? He deserves a mention or two. :) Or perhaps mention of the Isle Of Man TT and the current American racers putting their lives on the line every year to race. Also disappointed by the supreme lack of present day/current customized/modified bikes; there were a few downstairs but not many and almost no info on who modified them and why they are considered hall of fame pieces. Conclusion, still worth going if you're not more than an hour away and you love motorcycles in general, but if you like current street sport bikes and or current super bike... be prepared for...

Coming from a 19-year-old that just obtained his motorcycle license last year my admiration for motorcycles in the history behind them is crazy and so is my father's and due to me living in Michigan and coming to visit this in Ohio I sent the photos back to my father and me and him shared a good laugh about it and I also learned so much when they came to understanding the versions of the motorcycles back before my time and then also seeing them as their presently are nowadays and all the different upgrades and innovations that have made motorcycles safer more innovative and useful in today's riding. I recommend it this for anyone who actually shares a genuine love for the beauty of motorcycles and would love to learn some cool facts about the history behind them. Happy travels...

Located off the road in a nice secluded bit of nature, tickets aren't too expensive for what you get. This museum is clearly meant for people who are already motorcycle & racing enthusiasts or AMA members. For them, this is a 5-star museum. For the general history goer like myself, it's less engaging. A lot of the exhibits go into the specs of the bikes & who rode them. You do get a few anecdotal stories about moments in a rider's life that are interesting to read about, but most of the exhibits are written with the expectations of the visitor already having some motorcycle knowledge.
