La Fogata Grill — Restaurant in Violet Township

ZACHARIAH P. AND ARTURO H. Are both the best servers that we have ever had! ZACHARIAH is absolutely amazing and treated us so great that we left him the best tip that we have ever tipped before! He's extremely attentive,super nice, patient,sweet with our 20 month old son and we NEVER had to ask for anything! He came to our table as soon as he seen that they were bringing out our food to see if everything was right and to ask what else we needed! My husband always orders the michelada and didn't really like the first one that he ordered so Zach P. asked how he wanted it and made sure that the bartender made it exactly like that and said that he would make another one for my husband if he didn't like it! Best experience that we've ever had and we are frequent regulars at La Fogata Grill. Arturo H. Is also someone that we get as a server pretty often as we go eat at La Fogata grill very often and he's always so sweet, patient and very attentive with us!!! It's always a pleasure to see him and have him as our server! I'm also very happy with the manager but unfortunately I can't remember what his name is but I ordered some flan (dessert) for mine and my husbands anniversary which is on Monday March 15th! I spoke with the manager to see if I could get this specialty ordered because I don't want to do individual flan and I wanted enough for at least 8 people and the manager was very accommodating and pleasant over the phone and had no problem doing it for me! food is absolutely amazing every time we go and not to mention how fast it is for them to bring out our meal each and every time! It's amazing how fast they are in the kitchen and how wonderful they do! Thank you everyone and what you do there definitely DOES NOT go unnoticed and we hope that you all keep up the fantastic work!!! P.S. My son Justin Carver works here now and absolutely loves working here!!! Thank you all for Justin's sweet 16th birthday dessert and lots of whipped cream on his face Zach!!!!! You guys are the best so thank you to all the employees at La Fogata Grill.

It was disgusting. I literally don't know what the other people who say they love the food are talking about. The waiter was polite enough, and the food did come out quickly. The waiter was attentive and stopped by probably four or five times, which I find reasonable. He received a good tip. That's the best thing I can say about the restaurant and that's the only reason I'm even giving them 2 stars.

The food was disgusting. Everything tasted of salt. We got chicken quesadillas as an appetizer, and while they came out quickly, the ones touching the plate were sopping wet on the bottom! From the cheap, shredded iceberg lettuce, I presume. This leads me to suspect that they store the lettuce in a bucket of ice water so that it will rot more slowly, which keeps it wet all the time. It didn't take 10 minutes for them to get it out to the table, how was it sitting in water so long that it was soggy by the time it got to me? And, there were no different textures or any type of flavoring. It was all smush, salt and cheese. That was all my entire meal tasted of. I got the smothered burrito and my companion got the California Burrito and the cheese sauce that they pour over the top was probably the worst part. It cools and congeals and becomes glue in less than 5 minutes. And these burritos are pretty freaking big, so it takes much longer than 5 minutes to eat them. I got the shredded chicken in the quesadilla and the shredded beef in the burrito, and they're both treated with the exact same flavoring and they somehow manage to taste basically the same. Which is, salt. That was all I could taste was salt. I had to take a drink after every single bite. At least it didn't cost much. I will not...

WOW!!!! Where do I start??? My family and I stopped because we had a hankering for some "south of the border" cuisine. We were on vacation and wanted something different. First of all the hostess was prompt and polite. The server came, took our orders, and returned in very short order. From that point on our beverages never got lower than 1/2 full. We ordered our food and barely had enough time to eat a basket of chips before our meal arrived. Now the food... I love the house salsa that was served with the chips!!! My wife commented that she could drink it (I'm pretty sure she meant with some vodka). Our food arrived and I was a little worried, it was a TON of food!!! I knew I made a mistake eating chips because there was no way I was going to be able to finish it. Every plate was presented beautifully (5 in total). I can only comment on my meal but from talking to my family the consensus was that it a flavor explosion in our mouths. We all agree that it was absolutely the best "Mexican food" we have ever tasted!!! The bill came and I was delighted at the very reasonable price. We all boxed up food and left overfull.

Eight days later we were leaving the area and we're trying to decide where to have our last meal... I asked if we would like to go to La Fogata Grill again and had four excited family members all begging to go back. We all ordered different meals than the previous time and other than the menu items everything was the exactly same. Thank you from the the Olson family for such a delightful meal and top notch service! This was a perfect way of ending a vacation...
