Dollar General — Local services in Big Stone Gap

First off The Cashier that ring me up this evening was extremely nice, polite and professional! Very Helpful compared to some that I've seen that work there! I was able to find everything I was needing with ease. Also I have to brag a lil because I have been to 3 different Dollar General Stores, today, trying to add money to my Paypal account and this DG was the only one that actually knew what I was even talking about to begin with, n what they were doing n needed to do in order to get the transaction complete, and added it so quick!!! The other 2 DG's I went to earlier today were horrible. The first one, their card swipe thing on the register was messed up so the woman literally took my card n slung it back at me n said it's not gonna work today! No apologies or anything!!! The 2nd one I stopped at had no clue what I was even talking about and didn't know that they could even add money to any account using their register. The cashier told me that they don't do those transactions. So I had to let him know that I've been loading my account from DG ever since I've had it. That's when he continued to just act dumb n was very rude with poor customer service at the WC VA one. So with all that being said the DG that has been the absolute best today, by far, was the Duffield VA one. So if you want somewhere to shop and be treated like somebody then stop by there! I remember the day they opened up for business. For years, the place was stayed super clean, very well organized, and the employees were the best in every way possible. It was perfect for quick stops and once in a while I'd spend a little time to look around with out hassle....BUT....things change.

Their shelves are empty! They never have what I need anymore. 2022

Now, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The employees are so rude, never helpful, and self centered to the max! It's rare that someone's at the register unless if course there's a line of people waiting (nothing uncommon). They refuse to open another register, regardless of how many customers in line. 😒 Instead of 3 miles down the road, I'll drive 30 miles out of my way to hit Wal-Mart...Enough said!

I think that this store has more to look at and more to choose from then the one I have in my area. I have found several items here that I couldn't find anywhere else. The service is great and friendly and helpful. They have wheelchair access and easy parking. I like it a whole lot more than the ones I have been in. I have always found everything that I needed and that makes a difference in my life to be in a place where you can find most anything that you are looking for. The price is always good and the clothes seem to be better made than most. It's a place that I would definitely...
