Its a small but very peaceful and honorable tomb that rest on The Presidential Estate just a short way down from the home. Its an incredible part of history and a humbling spot to stand at and bare witness.

George Washington's final will outlined that his final wish was to be buried at Mt Vernon. He also made it clear that a new tomb was to be made to replace his current family tomb that was deteriorating. In 1831, the President and his wife and family were moved to the new family tomb.
