The Francis Shoppe — Attraction in Wabash

I debated submitting a review; however I feel my experience could offer assistance to future customers. Terry (owner) and her in shop ladies are wonderful! They know their product, have a good eye/feel for what will work best for each client's body type & fashion comforts. The beginning of my experience was great! They helped me find a dress that should have been wonderful. I was informed when I paid my deposit that alterations are included in the sale price (thus did not expect to pay additional for alterations only the remaining sales balance at pick up.) The night before my next day 10 a.m. appointment to pick up my dress, I received a text from the seamstress telling me we need to reschedule. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. We were 2 weeks out from the date of our event, I live over 2 hours away, and I was scheduled to work every remaining day up to the event. Seamstress asked me to move my time to end of the next day so she could "finish" the alterations. I agreed. When I picked up my dress, all alterations were not completed. Simply the hem length had been altered. Nothing was taken in or tucked as had been marked. Then when I went to check out seamstress informed me I owed an additional $125. I explained that I had not anticipated this as I was told at the time of sale that alterations were included in the sale. In general, I HIGHLY recommend Terry & her shop. I just caution customers to 1. Tell the shop your event date is sooner than it is (in hopes of getting your garments finished alterations on time.) 2. I visited to find a dress for a wedding later this summer. The ladies helped me find a great dress for the wedding g and one the rehearsal dinner as well. They had a lot of options for both casual and more formal occasions. They helped me get out of my comfort zone a bit by finding dresses in colors I don't normally wear, but that fit my complexion and body shape. Never have I received so many compliments about any dress I have ever worn than my dress from The Francis Shoppe. Terri is great at what she does and can pick the right dress for your body type and style. Plus they custom fit the dress to your every desire and concern. (They can adjust the mid section, hide your bra straps, put velvet across an area that might chaff, etc.) The drive is worth it if you want to look your best and feel confident.
