After 10 incredible years together, Walker’s Overlook was the perfect setting for my husband and I to finally say “I do”! We researched dozens of wedding venues and ultimately we only needed to tour Walker’s Overlook. I knew as soon as we set foot on the property that it was going to be our wedding venue! We had a few criteria for our venue that we were not willing to compromise on and Walker’s checked off every item on our list! We wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception held in one location with seating and parking for 250 people, to bring our own liquor for the bars, to have two catering companies to serve both Indian and American cuisine, plenty of time to get ready, a cocktail hour plus a 5 hour reception, the venue couldn’t be too far from our home and family in Baltimore, an included rain backup plan was a must, tables, chairs, and tent plus setup were strongly preferred, and we wanted a place with natural beauty and character. Walker’s Overlook also set the bar high by including a day of coordinator who was available to us for nearly two years as we planned the ultimate wedding and party! Our assigned wedding coordinator, Holly McKenrick, came highly recommended to us by two friends who were married at Walker’s Overlook in 2017. While she was incredibly busy doing the work of atleast two people as she coordinated two years worth of weddings in 2021, she always answered my questions! She was available by text, call, and email, and would always let me know when she was available if I needed more than a quick response. She helped me make sure we had all the crucial details finalized well in advance of our wedding. That being said, everything can’t be perfect, and she helped resolve a significant issue with our linens the day of the wedding. One of our caterers arrived to the venue very late with the linens and didn’t bring all of the linens in our contract. Holly handled all of these issues without me even knowing! She went to their sister property Dulaney’s Overlook and grabbed linens for the sweetheart and cake tables and literally saved the day and the look of our reception! She also brought in additional staff to get the reception tables set quickly since the linens arrived so late. I am so grateful to her and her team for doing this- she really went above and beyond as our day of coordinator! Even when we were running a bit behind she was positive and collected, which was exactly what we needed. She also made sure to run through a ceremony rehearsal with us at the property the night before the wedding. This rehearsal really helped things go smoothly and helped us feel comfortable and look prepared during our big day. I cannot say enough good things about Holly and her team! We received so many compliments on the gorgeous scenery of Walker’s Overlook, and many people asked where the venue was when they saw pictures- they couldn’t believe it was in Maryland! When we signed the contract in November of 2019, the value of Walker’s Overlook could not be matched by any other wedding venue in the DMV area. I looked for months and never found an equal competitor that met all of our needs. During our tour, our guide Juanita assured us that Walker’s wouldn’t hold another event the same day as our wedding, and the typical contract included 12 hours of access to the entire venue. The focus was entirely on our wedding that day, and we really appreciated that! Walker’s Overlook really was a fantastic setting for the best day of our lives, and we thoroughly enjoyed our wedding and time there! Thank you so much to the Owners for hosting us and to Holly and her team for ensuring that we had the wedding of our dreams after 2 years of planning! Our wedding at Walker's Overlook was absolutely perfect! The venue is beautiful both inside and outside! We had about 165 guests, which was a great amount to have a big dance floor, bar, photobooth, and buffet in the tent. Would definitely recommend requesting Holly for your day of coordinator, our original coordinator did not respond very well and ended up having a family emergency the week of our wedding. Holly stepped in and BLEW it out of the water. In one 3 hour phone call she learned every detail of our wedding (even more than our original coordinator) and made the day absolutely perfect. Thank you Walker's Overlook for making our wedding perfect!! 100% would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone!

The setting is gorgeous, the owners and staff lovingly maintain the property. One of the best things I found about Walkers and Dulanys (their sister venue) was if you need help, they are there, if you are more of a DIY'er they let you go. I found searching for venues a bit difficult in the beginning because most venues had stringent rules not only about the venue but timing and vendors you could or could not use. We couldn't have asked for a better day, we even had a 5 minute shower during the dinner blessing that produced a double rainbow! Highly recommend!

Our daughter and now bonus son's wedding was at Walker's Overlook this past Memorial Day. Both Mark, the owner and our coordinator, Julie were wonderful to work with. The setting is gorgeous, the owners and staff lovingly maintain the property. One of the best things I found about Walkers and Dulanys (their sister venue) was if you need help, they are there, if you are more of a DIY'er they let you go. WOW! Where do I even start? Walker's Overlook is the most stunning wedding venue that I have ever seen. The rolling green meadows, pictureque views, beautiful sunsets, well manicured gardens and their farmhouse is just so beautiful. Walker's Overlook could be a movie backdrop it's so perfect from all angles. We had our Sept-2016 wedding at Walker's Overlook and couldn't be happier. From Day 1, Mark L, the owner, has been a joy to work with. Mark helped us secure our date and worked with us on getting our caterer access to the facility for an initial consultation. We had a Jewish kosher wedding so it was VERY hard to find a venue who would allow us to use an outside caterer and Walker's Overlook was so accommodating. They were so open to all of our suggestions and even madye some of their own, including the DJ and Florist who we ended up using! During our 1st visit, we fell in love with the venue and couldn't wait for our wedding day. Our wedding coordinator, Shannon H., was excellent and was so excited to help us with our Jewish wedding. Shannon met us at the venue a few months in advance and we drafted the itinerary and she worked directly with our caterer and us to design the floor plan. On our wedding day, Shannon was there early to help with setup and had all the tables arranged inside the tent in line with our floor plan. Shannon worked so nicely with our caterer and had everything staged the way we wanted it. The covered tent was appointed so nicely with lights, which were awesome for evening pictures. They had air chillers inside the tent to cool it down and their dance floor was HUGE!!! Our caterer said she hasn't seen a venue with such a great layout and offered our caterer a lot of room to prepare the meals, which is rare for a wedding venue. They had 6 bathrooms so there was never a line. They had all the chairs arranged for our ceremony and it looked GORGEOUS! They let us store our leftover food in their fridge and we came by the next day to pickup. They even helped us with trash disposal and took care of helping us with disposing of our wooden signs, which was SO helpful. Overall, this was the PERFECT venue for us and Mark, Shannon, Ed, and team were the perfect people to help us plan the most magical wedding. We STRONGLY recommend Walker's Overlook for future...

Walker's Overlook was the absolutely perfect place for us to get married. From the very beginning, Mark the owner was very easy to work with, and everything leading up to the day was very organized and seamless. One of the best parts about Walker's is the ownership - they are so flexible and willing to work with you to make the day special and match your vision. Another best part about Walker's is the day of coordinator who is included. Luann was assigned as our day of coordinator and I honestly don't even know where to begin with how amazing Luann was! Though she is technically a day-of coordinator, I leaned on her more than anyone else throughout the entire process. She is extremely responsive over email and was there to answer all of my many, MANY questions. We met with her multiple times and she is truly one of the most organized people I've met. She had every detail figured out so the day went smoothly. She thought of everything, and made sure details I had totally forgotten about did not get overlooked. Luann set everything up on the day of the event, and was running around all day to make sure everything was perfect. We had to pivot multiple times due to the rain (there was a tropical storm that hit right on our wedding day) and Luann/everyone at Walker's was so gracious with us as we changed the rain plan multiple times. Luann even held umbrellas for us when we walked into the tent - she herself was soaked but at least the wedding party was dry! (thank you Luann!) Walker's has someone there, Dave, who monitors the weather using multiple different apps and he is truly an expert. He helped us decide where to do cocktail hour based on weather reports. Everyone at Walker's is so down to earth and easy to work with. It was an amazing venue to have in the rain since there are so many places to take pictures indoors, so my photographer had a field day with it! It's so nice having the entire venue to yourself for the whole day - we did hair and makeup in the mansion and made a whole day of it. Definitely a great way to stretch out the wedding day.
