Honestly, so so sad and heartbroken and disappointed. I brought them a baby opossum not too long ago thinking that they would save it because they kept reassuring me over the phone that they were a wildlife group why would they just kill it. When that’s exactly what they did. The possum was fine. Just dehydrated and hungry because I was having a hard time feeding it but was still eating, they kept telling me oh, they couldn’t guarantee me that they would save it because they need a 50% chance to live or whatever. They literally didn’t even try and just ended up killing him as soon as I left. And on top of that when I brought the opossum to them, the lady snatched him out of my hands saying that I was hurting him. Hurting him? I’ve been taking care of him for three days. I’m so so sad still and still wish I had just kept him and had more support at home to have to have kept him and hydrated him. He had a great chance of survival. There was nothing wrong with him. They just didn’t wanna put the time and effort in. Such a scam. If you find a possum or any wildlife I highly recommend you join a Facebook group for possums or the type of animal you have. They have great resources and great people that are truly doing great things , I hope this helps. You know that that little animal came to you for a reason. Forget these mentally abusive people here in California. God bless. These photos are taken the day I took him in and 30 mins before I dropped him off. I still want to cry when I see his little beautiful face. 😢 I’m so sorry little baby…

What a magical and cute place for kids/families to hangout. Lindsay wildlife museum offers a great educational and recreational experience for kids, and families. Located on N Main St in Walnut creek right opposite Friends Church, it's very easy to commute and find parking spaces. You can park in the complex, on the streets and the church has additional parking for museum visitors. Inside, you get to experience a lot of educational content about wildlife, see birds and small mammals in action. Some of the museum residents don't have the capability to survive by themselves in the wild - these precious beings need human help to survive and they double up to be ambassadors for the museum visitors. We loved every single area in the museum with the favorite being the bald eagle, and guinea pig section. We saw bunch of bunnies, guinea pigs and they were adorable! Right next to the museum is a swim center, and a park. This park is super well maintained, has lot of play areas of kids, lot of picnic tables and is buzzing with activity. I highly recommend this gem in the east bay for families with kids!!! Very very productive and constructive experience. Oh - the staff at Lindsay wildlife are AMAZING! They work super hard for the welfare of the animals are super passionate about it. A+++

NOT THE BEST PLACE FOR PEOPLE WITH ORNITHOPHOBIA

There are some seriously cool birds inside the Lindsay Museum, and although some are in cages with glass windows, many sit tethered on top. Like the Giant Bald Eagle. And the Great Owl. It's pretty cool, though, you begin to feel a little bad for the birds. How long could I possibly sit in one spot comfortably? Hmm.

I came here a lot as a child (we lived on Larkey Lane so the park was my spot). It was in a different building then, which still sits next door and looks like it's not being used for anything. Not sure if they have storage or equipment in here but it's definitely not open to the public. I wish It were! Lots of good memories in the big building.

Lindsay has demos and hands-on interaction that your kids will enjoy. The downstairs is a large, open room and has art for sale on the wall and items like puzzles for kids to put together. It's pretty open and always surprises me that they don't do more with the space. It's fun to walk around the place from time to time but I'm sure it's a much great joy to experience this with a child. I think my favorite part of the Museum was the live bee hive with clear walls that has a tube connecting it to the outside world. We watched bees loaded with pollen come and make deliveries to their Queen. She's marked and pretty easy to find inside the hive. Really neat!

If you find a wild animal with an injury, bring it here and they'll patch it up. But if they determine the animal is too friendly, like their fox, they'll cage it up too and put it on display...which kind of sucks for Mr....

Cool education place to bring babies and young children, especially when it's cold and rainy. There is always a "talk" by one of the volunteer wildlife ambassadors educating the kids about the local wildlife and the differences between wildlife and pets. Beware: The volunteers do feed the birds dead mice and other things while speaking.

In the Exhibit hall is on one floor and is small. You can easily see everything in one hour. but can stay longer for each "talk" (one per 30 minutes to an hour). There is a bird area that there are live birds and owls sitting above the glass enclosed bird habitats, which you think are stuffed because the birds don't move at all.

Lots of interactive exhibits for kids of all ages to engage and learn from. The active bee hive is very cool by the window - the bees come in and out from outside and go into the clear "hive" to made honey.

There are live snakes, bunny, guinea pig, mice, rat, possum and a tarantula to look at. Lindsay is also an active wildlife rehabilitation hospital for the East Bay and offers wildlife education programs and camps starting at the age of 2 through teens throughout the year at very reasonable rates.

Another great value, become a annual Lindsay member and you can also get in free or get a 50% discount to visit six Bay Area science attractions, including Oakland Zoo, and more than 300 across the United States.

Diaper changing table in the women's restroom. Tiny-sized elevator to get up to the Exhibit Hall. In a residential neighborhood, Lindsay has access to additional free parking across the street at the church's...
