Leonard C Lopes Memorial Park — Attraction in Wareham

I want to like this park so much but it needs help. There is always a lot of trash and the metal slides are very hot in the summer and they have not been maintained. I think the potential for someone to get hurt is definitely there. Also, I don't mind sharing the park with teens but we have witnessed a few things that make me uncomfortable bringing my young toddler there regularly.... It really stinks because we love going to Onset for dinner and a walk...

Leonard J Lopes Park is a children's playground, has a basketball court and a field to play whatever you want. Our church holds it's annual Trunk or Treat there every Halloween along with baseball, softball and football on occasional Sundays throughout the year. It's a peaceful park with no problems with drug abusers or the like. The Wareham P.D. takes good care of the residents...

My daughter loves to go here and play. They are doing a pretty good job keeping some of it up to date. There isn't a high risk of splinters on the wood, but it does need some work. One section is leaning, but still seems pretty solid especially for the kids. As long as adults stay off of it, i don't see it being a big...
