Target — Attraction in Washington Township

Sad! Our cashier did everything he could to provide the worst service I've had at a store. We entered Target laughing and cheerful with the idea of getting a birthday gift for my son, a few small Christmas gifts and for my teenage son to spend his hard earned money from chores. We left feeling outraged, angry, disappointed and shamed! Approximately 6:15-6:30pm Friday 12/09/23 @register 2 we were offered the decision to never shop at Target again. We have accepted the offer and will let family and friends know about our experience so they can join us. Our cashier snatched, yelled and demanded things from me, my son and my daughter as we rang out spending over $300.00. He treated us as if we were stealing or cheating Target out of something. My family has never taken anything from anyone or any store ever! We all work and enjoy shopping. Never have I experienced anything like this before. I have to say as an African American woman I see and hear about experiences similar to ours and think it is just a situation taken out of context or it really is not in my area. Tonight I believe my experience was just that. There was no issue with the couple ahead of us nor behind us as I noticed when leaving. I was so distraught by the experience I asked for a manager. I never have done that before but someone needed to know about this experience to correct it. That decision turned out to be an even worst idea as no manager ever came. I was told "the manager was too busy at self checkout to come up!" The helpful kind young lady who delivered that news to me was so apologetic and sweet. The only bright and positive experience as I exited the store in shock and anger. Writing this review may not land anywhere but my little circle but at least my little circle will know Target is not for us! Our dollars will matter at other retail establishments that at least say "hello" before they begin to treat you like a criminal...

The older ladies at the cashier stations are nasty. I went in there and bought the last of the mini verse lifestyle balls wanted more asked the guy doing the toys could I take the display case he said yes. Then when I went to check out I forgot to pay for the balls inside so I backed up did them and that’s when this older lady came up to me saying you can’t have that I explain what I was told and she grabbed it out of my hand and said no you can’t. Then got on the phone with someone telling talking about the situation. Like ma’am it’s going to go to customer service and give back to toy section where it will be thrown away I would of paid for it like an unopened ball I just wanted more.. I’m tired of people that aren’t happy in life and work in places where they deal with people all day because I could tell the type of person she was before she said anything and I was right. People need to let people live and enjoy life I wasn’t stealing nor being mean I asked the toy department guy. Luckily I’m working on healing everyday cause back then this would have ruined my day and I would have been a mess over something stupid yes but still some people are more sensitive in situations. Long lines again and again at the Target in Turnersville. It's not like this at other local Target stores, Mantua, Mt. Laurel. I am becoming a less frequent shopper at Turnersville Target due to the long lines. We walked in and walked right back out last evening 1/25/25 around 5 PM. The lines were too long to consider waiting in so we left. In addition, I made some notes on 12/24/24. Yes, Christmas Eve. There were many closed/unstaffed cash registers. Target made the change to 10 items or less in the recently upgraded self-checkout lanes. And by the looks of things, did not adjust to increase staffing at the cash register lanes. On the afternoon of 12/24/24 lanes 1, 4, 6, 7, and 10 were closed and the lines were long. What day other than 12/24 is busier? Since Target is understaffing the lanes maybe more self-checkout lanes need to be added, and not have a 10-item limit. The staffed cash registers look like a large waste of space since they are not utilized. Let me know when improvements are made and I may consider coming back.
