I’m an Active Duty Soldier stationed in the area as a recruiter and do not look like the predominant population in the area. Figured I would check this place out with my wife and two young children. I was looking for the bags in order to pick apples (not realizing they were at the orchard) while my wife went to the orchard. At the orchard a young man told my wife that he would have to check the stroller when she left because people have been stealing. This alloyed my wife a bit and as I was walking up she was on the way back and explained the situation. I told her it didn’t sound right but maybe that’s their rules, whatever not a huge deal but this ain’t the place for us. We were about to just leave, but then seen another family who did not look like us, about to go in the orchard with a stroller. My wife and I moved closer just to see if he would say the same to that family. The young man did not say anything to the other family about having to check their stroller. I immediately confronted him about it and his response was that he forgot because he was busy trying to help me (which was a complete lie, we have the entire thing on video). We talked to the owner, got a refund and left. I’ve served this country for 17 years, continue to serve, and been overseas in combat zones but yet still get discriminated against while taking my family out. This type of behavior is absolutely...
Read moreThis will be my 3rd year being a csa member thru Von Thun Farms. This has become one of my absolute favorite spots to visit and farm I make my business to support! I do not know the dynamics of the farm families within Von Thun Farm! I do know the person I deal with is Cindy and let me tell you that is one business savvy, witty, awesome human being! When I purchased my csa share last year it included 2 season passes to the farm! Perfect for myself and kids. I have visited in the past and both kids absolutely loved it! I am disappointed because this past Summer 2023 nobody within my family attended the farm! NOBODY! My kids are not happy with that at all! I could not make it for Halloween either! My life has become very full with work and school and 2 small children. I just received my csa sign up sheet for 2024 and I’m going to order early and pay so my family can enjoy vegetables, fruit, eggs, and jams & sauces! I want to be sure we visit and my kids miss the farm terribly. I have one child who LOVES to ride the horses, and another who loves the apple shooter gun. They both love the farm animals and favor the face painting area. I cherish my csa order in the Summer. If you do not know what csa is call the farm or something because it is a wonderful affordable luxury to own come Summertime. The eggs are so good my family will not eat store...
Read moreMy Name is Mikaela Ricardo. I am 10 years old and this experience was horrible. I have anxiety, and have dealt with Panic Attacks in the past. I brought my service animal because I wanted to take birthday photos because my birthday is today. They would not let my service animal come in because the ADA does not support Emotional Support? I almost got a Panic Attack in there because I wasn’t with my animal. And hear me out if your reading this, there were other dogs there. And no, they were not service animals. Their owners were just playing with them. And, they wouldn’t give us a refund. I was supposed to go in there with my dad to take photos but one of us needed to take photos. So my dad stayed in front with my dog. My dog started crying loudly and according to my dad they almost got kicked out. We paid for the entire experience and we didn’t even get to pick flowers. We lost a balloon as well. We didn’t get to explore all of the activities we paid for. We didn’t even get to her a refund for my dads ticket. We only got store credit? That is not fair. Only $21.31 of store credit. Everything there is extremely overpriced. I would not recommend.Von Thun Farms is a very bad company and I’m never going there again. I almost got a panic attack. If I did then the damn manager would have to go and pay for the...
