Attended the first of 2022 monthly bird and nature walks led by Chris Rurik, local naturalist and contributing freelance writer to the awared winning Key Peninsula News. Scheduled for the first Saturday of each month and open to anyone interested in nature, meeting at the pavilion to begin at 8:30 AM to discuss and discover who and what lives or visits this range of habitat on the Key Peninsula, besides the human residents and visitors. For a winter day post some very heavy rain days that followed holiday snows, we identified by sight and sound 28 species of birds. A mix of raptors, forest edge, wetland birds and waterfowl crossed life paths with us and intersected with mosses, lichens, fungi, grasses, shrubs and trees. Gateway Park is part of the Peninsula Metro Parks and partners with DNR and current accessibility to what is known as the 360 Trails Park, shared by trail bicycle enthusiasts , hikers, runners and horses. There is a dog park available as well. Good parking areas in two areas from the main Washington 302 entrance. Multi-use children play area that sees a lot of use. 4 restrooms off of the pavilion area were clean and well kept on this visit. Looking forward to return visits throughout the year to enjoy seasonal...

At Gateway Park we always have a wonderful time! It’s clean, safe, and incredibly well-designed and our children have been coming for years. They are now 10 and 13 and still enjoying it as a quick stop on our way home. There’s a great mix of equipment — slides, climbing structures, swings, splash pads and even zip lines that kept our kids entertained for hours.

There are plenty of shaded areas and benches for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. You ca have birthday parties there and much more. It’s clear that the park is well-maintained and thoughtfully laid out.

Bonus points for the clean restrooms and nearby dog park, bike and horse trails, as well as an open field area! This has definitely become one of our go-to spots for family outings. Highly recommend it to any parents looking for a fun, safe, and engaging environment for their kids and...

I arrived for a baby shower with my daughter. A friend had been there for hours to make sure we got two tables close to parking since the baby came early and was in nicu we didn't want mom walking far and two of the grandparents had walkers. We had just finished setting up in the Pavillion when a women arrived insisting she had reserved the entire pavillion for the day. No signs, no reserved info, nothing was posted at the park in the Pavillion. As everyone arrived we were forced to relocate food, coolers, gifts, and grandparents to the farthest table now that it was the only one available. Far past the spray pad and play ground where our children were. Complete bs to allow people to sign up online and pay for the Pavillion without...

This park is very nice. Good family bathrooms. The splash pad was able to keep my 10 and 7 year olds attention for about 2 hours. Along with lots of play things, See saw, mary go round, spin chairs, climbing nets big slides, zip line, a big small kids play ground special needs swing, parent baby swing and much more. If you find yourself here its worth a stop. They also has free crafts and lunches for kids when we were there. There was a sign for movies in the park as well. We visit many many parks and this is a good one.

Gateway Park is definitely a fun place to take the kids for playing and / or trail walking. The park has a zip line, play structure for older and younger children, and a splash pad. For the "parent" area, there is a covered area along with individual tables with umbrellas. The park is set off from the busy road, so there is no need to worry about the littles running into the street. The trails are massive, and from the little I have done, I can't wait to go back and walk some more

Nice park with a good breeze most of the time. This has a nice water park, very large with plenty of spraying things for the kids. Also there is a very big play ground that also has a zip line. Lots of parking. You can reserve tables under covered pavilion for parties. There is plenty of shade. Large soccer field here. I believe there are also horses trails. Bathrooms are clean and ok.
