The Gunn Memorial Library is a treasured gem and the community center of not just the town but the area. It's a beautiful place to visit, with knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful staff who will quickly steer you to your book requests or make excellent suggestions for a great read should you suggest a topic or just say, "I want a page turner for a cozy wintry night". Make sure to visit the second floor of the original building with it's gorgeous mythological Mowbray mural across the ceiling, stained glass windows, mahogany paneling and stone fireplace where guest lecturers and authors present. On the way up, check out the rotating art exhibits along the walls. The children's library below the main floor is wonderful for kids with a great selection of books, children's programs and computers.
