Bridal Veil Falls State Scenic Viewpoint — Attraction in Washougal

This is a cool State Park with two different trails: the first is a 0.4 mile loop hike that goes along the top of the bluffs with awesome views of the Columbia River and Columbia River Gorge. The other trail is the trail to the waterfall for which the park is named: Bridal Veil Falls. This is a 0.6 mile each way out and back trail, with about 121 ft of elevation gain. You go viewpoint, and then of course you have to go back up most of the way back to the parking lot. It's a great view though. This is actually the lowest waterfall along Bridal Veil Creek, but the other two aren't really accessible as there is no trail or safe way to get to them. Bridal Veil Falls at the right time of day is an easy drive from our home in Tigard, OR. Once you get there you will be overwhelmed by several things: The 1000 shades of Green that exists there. The plentiful amount of breathtaking waterfalls, some of which are a fairly short walk to get to. All of the vistas to stop and meditate on the serene beauty and listen to the power of the water as it flows over the Falls. And it is a great place to bring and bond with the family, so close to the Metro area. There are always others around to ask for that group family photo.
