Read moreI proposed to my boyfriend here! I LOVE this place. Needless to say, it was the most beautiful and most powerful waterfall I've seen on the west coast. The foliage everywhere is out of this world. There is something truly magical about being surrounded by so much green.
To get to the falls, park your car right off the highway at the designated parking area. Then it's just an easy hike/walk (less than a mile) with a couple of small bridges and inclining steps along the way to the falls. You can also walk along the river banks and hike up a narrow dirt trail alongside the waterfall to the top. *Although, I recommend only skilled hikers to hike this part when the weather is wet because it can get very slippery and dangerous. Otherwise, this falls is family friendly and has bathrooms, and a map is posted at the beginning of the trail just past the parking area for reference. This green wonderland is worth a visit, do not miss this...
Read moreThis is a definite must stop. It is on the historic route 30. Take the Bridal Veil Falls exit and then take a right onto 30 going back towards Portland. You will drive over a small bridge that is the top of the falls and the parking lit is right after it. Not a huge parking lot. Best to go early or late or on a weekday. It is only about a .6 mile hike round trip. There is a viewing deck. But climb down to the water for a better perspective. If taking photos or ling exposure shots. Get close to the water and also take some shot from the trail between the bridge and the deck. You get a shot of the falls around the corner and also take shots of the river from the middle of the bridge you walk over. Really loved this place. Greatly or late so you can get golden hour shots and no one there. Stellar Jay Bird was flying around me. ...
