Waterbury Center State Park — Attraction in Waterbury

5 dollars a person to enter with good parking and a spillover lot. The public areas are well maintained and groomed. There are signs that state dogs are not allowed in public areas, but there are trails you can explore. There are permanent grills and picnic tables near each. I visited during off season but beach looked like it was in good shape and the kayak rental place had plenty to choose from. There are restroom facilities when park is open during season. During off season there is enough parking for 6 or 7 cars and a 5 minute walk to the main area. There is a free boat ramp with free parking to the west of this location, but it does not have any amenities...

If your looking for a relaxing day positioned at the base of a large reservoir run by the park service where services are rudimentary ,where the panorama of the mountains and the ripple of shining water from the sun while lying on the grass in the shade hearing the rustle of a mature fir tree,this is the place to go.

Umiak provides rental canoes, kayaks and paddle boards while the beach ,as is the case in every state park is for everyone.

I cannot begin to describe the calmness and serenity of this place and such a cute picnic spot with absolutely picturesque views of water, the sun and greenery & orange-ery & red-ery(Fall). You can also go for Kayaking, kayaks are available and there is ample space to park. Cute Benches under trees and green grass to sit if you want.

Love the location! Very quiet and peaceful! Breathe some fresh air and relax!
