"What a whirlwind of a experience. I came to Arsenal to look at & possibly purchase a helmet for my upcoming MSF course plus do the Jumpstart. I decided once in the store to get pre-approved since I knew I would want a bike after the course. Couldn't decide between a two wheel or what the long term goal of a trike. Joe helped me with the Jumpstart and was informative about what to expect in the course. Plus, we started talking about the what if's after the course. I asked him questions and all, that is when we started looking at the Tri Glides. I called my wife to come up and before you know it, we were wanting to get one. Joe did not do any type of hard sell which is great. Honestly we couldn't ask for a better person to guide us through this adventure than Joe. He made us feel like we have known him for a long time and is extremely easy to talk too. It was time to look at helmets and I went to another store before coming to Arsenal. They had me try on helmets and all but just asked how it felt on my head. Nonetheless, Rosezella helped me with looking at the helmets they had there. I told her what I was looking for but unfortunately they didn't have exactly what I was hoping for. But she had me try on a couple helmets and the she had me sold. Why, because she actually walked me through on what a good fit meant and made sure the helmet I ended up with actually fit correctly. Because Rosezella took the time to actually fit me for a helmet. That is only reason I ended up purchasing a helmet from Arsenal, all because of Rosezella. I will tell you this was a long day for my wife and I, as we went from one area to another. It was a Saturday and this started at 11:15am and didn't end till around 6:30pm. In addition, financing a bike through a Credit Union on the weekend, it takes longer than going through Harley Davidson financing. We went to the service department and that is where we met Brandi. She explained everything to us and even wrote things down for us. She is just as friendly as Joe is and so easy to talk too. She understood that we are getting a lot of information all at once, especially for first time bike purchasers. Brandi took her time explaining everything and answering our questions. But, I could tell she saw it on our faces how overwhelmed and tired we were getting. She was very patient with us. Back to Joe we went and he was constantly asking if we needed anything to drink and even though we said no, he got us some water and he knew we needed it. We downed those bottles of water not realizing that we actually really wanted them. He took us up to financing and we all know the dreaded feeling of seeing the finance people. As I stated before, it was a long day that we did not expect to be there as long as we were and I can tell you we felt it was a long day for Kim as well. Kim was our finance person and it was a busy day for her. Especially when she had printer problems trying to get our contract done. Even as exhausted as we were, we felt for Kim. Kim went through everything line by line and was patient with us when we asked questions. She is very friendly and made us feel comfortable. She did not try to hard sell us on the other programs they had to offer. Kim made sure we got the deal we wanted and actually did better than I thought we would get. Joe was still there after closing waiting till we were done and walked us out after that long day. Not only was this group extremely knowledgeable, they all were patient, forth right answering our questions and made my wife and I feel at ease after it was said and done. You couldn't ask for a better group of people than the one's we had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you again Joe, Rosezella, Brandi & Kim and sorry we made it a long day...
Read moreI would like to start out by saying itâs rare these days to find companies that not only meet expectations but exceed them, but that is exactly what ABC Harley Davidson in Waterford has done for me.
I recently purchased a beautiful 2019 Softail Heritage Classic and experienced the smoothest and most pleasant purchasing process. Already knowing the platform, I asked the team at ABC to work with me on negotiating the absolute best price possible, and to do so via email as my availability to come into the dealership was limited. The team at ABC didnât miss a beat, and between Mike Thorpe, Brent Richardson and Kevin McKane, we ended up with a win-win for both sides, all before stepping into the dealership.
On the day I went in to sign the paperwork, I was immediately greeted by Brent and taken back to look at the bike. The new bike was back in the shop having been prepped and detailed and looking great, ready for delivery. The fact that they trusted me enough to show up, and therefore take the time to make the bike ready for delivery was awesome.
From there, we went upstairs and within 15 minutes, the paperwork was done and a new sale was celebrated.
I spent a good hour in the dealership post-sale, getting to know staff in parts, service and accessory sales. Erin in Motorclothing is awesome and has a smile to boot. Their merchandise offerings are excellent and she and the staff very friendly. She is actually the reason I decided after shopping for clothes, to buy my new bike from them.
At the parts counter, the team was very helpful with purchasing some upgrades (LED lighting for tail/turn lights), and Brian pulled out every stop to get the best pricing and discounts. He was also very helpful in identifying the installs that were easy for me to do myself, thereby cutting down on labor costs. Who does that any more?!
At the time of the sale (a Saturday), we had setup delivery of the bike for that following Wednesday. As I was finishing up at the parts counter, Lonnie Edwards approached and said theyâd be happy to delivery the bike that afternoon! It turns out he and Annette, the assistant manager had figured out how to make that happen and go above and beyond. This is the type of team they have there folks!
Delivery was smooth, the bike performs great and Iâve been back since for additional purchases. Theyâve earned my business and will have my repeat business when itâs time to trade my Heritage in (not likely) or to buy another (much more...
Read moreAfter purchasing several vehicles at a dealership, I figured why not check out a harley dealer, how bad could it be? Sticker price on the floor was 25k. Financing Fred came back with 8% intrest 550+ month for 60 months. Just doing the math it comes out to 33k. Over the life of the loan I understand interest would account for some of that... I stated that I am looking for a 400 monthly payment. 72 months would also help that, plus the interest rate was way too high. Fred comes back with 4.5% interest 460 a month for 72 months... once again 33k over life of the loan. If you go to a simple loan calculator you can see on a 25k loan total interest is around 3,500 for life of the loan. Plus 1500 for sales tax comes out to 30k. This is also not accounting for the 2,500 I had down on top of it. If I remember correctly the 25k sticker tag also included freight/set up so I am not sure where the extra 3k is coming from. I was never shown a price breakdown but I am thinking the dealer is charging some extra fees just to own a harley. Fred with the info that 400 was my limit began what I think is pathetic sales tactics of fear of missing out. "Well you know these models are hot right now" , asking "me how long have I wanted a harley?" "Whats going to change between today and tomorrow?" Maybe instead of pushing your customer to make a purchase they very clearly and adamantly have refused, you could actually listen to words your customers say. I think the pricing is ridiculous and the sales/finicace guys need understand No means No. Ultimately this whole experience has turned me away from Harleys. It's clear that instead of getting you on a ride this dealer wants to take you for a ride first.
Edit: fred wanted me to sign before I even test rode the bike.
Edit 2: Travis called to explain that indeed the numbers make sense. Just that there were several thousand dollars in surcharges that I wasn't told about or shown, all while I was being pressured to sign into a bike I hadn't even test road. Great team ya got! For sake of keeping the numbers clean, he stated that I would end up fincianing 29k with the 2.5k already included. So sticker 25k, but actual cost is more in the ball park 29k with surcharges. Not even accounting for interest. It's a shame that a company with such a good brand is ruined by dealers such as your self.
Edit 4: Brent asked if he could do anything to get my business knowing full well he has nothing to offer of substance. Congratulations you've wasted...
